This is always laughable when seen. Apart from the fact that he has assuredly proven he can play RW or Center with equal defensive consistency, over the last 4 years he’s been a 25 goal 60 point guy. People who call him a 20 goal 50 point winger clearly have an objective to low label him for a lower return. It’s honestly like calling Debrincat a 25 goal 50 point winger. It’s annoying and completely inaccurate for zero reason other than to be inaccurate

He is probably in the 50-60 point player range. But when eichel went down he did really step up.

Eichel played this season with a neck injury and still put up good numbers. They weren’t too 5 numbers but do you think you could play at 100% with a neck injury?

Edit. His return will be based upon if teams can look past the fact that he has a neck injury right now. If I were a GM I wouldn’t give as much up because of that.

Yeah very aware of how math works. I guess when he’s scored 25, 22, 22 (69 games) and 25 (54 games) over the last 4 seasons I have a hard time calling him a 20 goal scorer. And this is using your “only hard numbers”. As Walter would say “you’re outta your element Donny”

Also that’s actually not how math works, when looking at players and totals as it’s very commonly accepted that a player is allowed to progress (or possibly regress) with the changing in their age. To just say raw totals while disregarding games played is incredibly disingenuous, and I suggest you enroll in a free statistics course if you actually believe what you are spouting off kid.

Buffalo is selling low with Eichel, through no fault of their own. Agreed that the return for Buffalo will be less than expected. I still think Columbus is the best fit for an Eichel trade. The Jackets need a #1 centre, they also need a player who’s locked up and can’t leave. They have 3 first round picks and could afford to give up one or two.
