Value standpoint in sure they’d be fine with couple late firsts and Lundell. Cap restrictions come into play. Is Eichel worth losing one of Barkov or Huberdeau to UFA because they can’t afford them? Idk about that. This is where that Bob deal bites then in the ass

They're an interesting team with their cap situation. It's quite similar to the Sabres minus Bob's contract.

$13M in space this offseason and $38M next offseason.

I think Florida would do it, as a top 2 center tandem of Eichel and Barkov would be downright frightening.
- kingcong39

Agreed... they would need to unload Cap though with Barkov's contract coming up and some other signings needed.

Check out how uncommitted they are re: the 22-23 season against the cap.

Add back in Ekblads 7.5 each year.. and what they would need to replace, plus taking on Eichel’s full 10. Doable yes, but there would have to be cap going back to Buf

You say 38M for 22-23. Add in Eichel and Ekblad that’s 18M. Left with 20M to replace Stralman, Yandle, Barkov, and Huberdeau. Uncommitted sure, but the thought was adding Eichel to their team as currently constructed. Doable yes, cap would have to be shed as well.

Yup, they would need to trade away Cap

Toronto loses Tavares Game 1
Winnipeg loses Scheifele Game 1
Vegas loses Stephenson Game 1

Montreals game strategy is one for the record books.

Injuries happen.

This is the NHL playoffs.

I had Montreal as my favorite this year. There was something that they showed in last year's bubble that made me think they were right at the cusp. Could be that goalie they have is a polarizing phenom of player who's probably the only goalie more frustrating than MAF - Remember the last time the Habs were the favorite in the East, Price had his knees blown out in the Conference finals by an idiot Kris Krieder.

Bad luck happens to everyone. I do admit, a Montreal/NYI finals might be the most boring finals since Anaheim whooped Ottawa's asses, but It'll be nice to see a Canadian team win the cup or a former fallen dynasty rather than a 4 year old team and the dirtiest team the NHL has seen since the 90's Flyers and Devils.

Agreed value standpoint it’s an easy yes from them. But throw in the risk of losing on of Barkov or Huberdeau, dunno not my call. The point of bringing in Eichel would be to add to those two specifically imo. But they have other contracts tying them down.

Alan Walsh is surprisingly quiet this morning.

I was hoping to see another image except instead of the sword going through Fleury, it would be Fleury with the sword through the hearts of Vegas fans.

What a moronic error.

I don't believe so as they're all in on adding quality players that want to be in Columbus.

I don't think they'd trade for Reinhart unless he agreed to sign an extension there.

I'm not sure Sam sees Columbus as a preferred destination, which is why I doubt he'll be traded there, despite what Friedman has repeatedly said about there being a lot of talk of Columbus and Reinhart being linked.

- kingcong39

it seems as if he wants to head west...at least that's what i thought i'd red before

I like the Florida idea of Lundell and two 1sts.

Then trade Sam and Florida’s first this year to Seattle for #2.

Start the rebuild adding Power, Beniers and Lundell to our other young core.

Have 2 firsts next year, one which will be most likely top 3

- Fattony1187

I'm gonna pass. Best case scenario the Sabres repeatedly lose to the Panthers in the playoffs for the next 5 years while Jack Eichel terrorizes the Sabres

Go west young man

Add a small dump on us. Seattle takes a contract in expansion. It could work.

Fair enough. I myself don’t worry about trading him in division if it makes our team better. Need to beat good teams in playoffs anyway. And in this scenario we are three years out of playoffs anyway

My take of the Kaprizov situation: Mishandled by the Wild since the second they drafted him. He doesn't owe them anything. They messed up trying to sign him for the playoffs last year - Great tactic, if your name is the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Hockey in the South is somehow more important to the NHL.

Guarantee you Arizona will be playing in Houston by 2030. Quebec will get the Panthers or Sabres if they're lucky, but I don't see them having another team this decade.

I have no idea if he wants to be here or not.

Call it a hunch but I think at least one WNYer comes home this summer

Iaffalo, Wood, Kane. Someone.

It's a great way to sell tickets

maybe...iafallo would be the most likely as i believe that the kings have what's needed to land jack...yes, i know the insider guy says, "no", but building up a cache of picks and young prospects allows for a team like LA to take advantage of an opportunity that comes up, what, once in a generation?

Yes

Dach and Cozens down the middle, at 6'4" and 6'3", respectively, with their skill sets?

Oh. My.
