I disagree. The assets you're trading today are much more valuable than the ones you traded 8 years ago.

The composition of this team now is loaded with high draft picks. The scenario resembles that of 2014, but what we have on the roster today, and what we'll have tomorrow, is far superior than what was going on in 2014. Plus, Jason was semi competent at the draft table, and also didn't trade away the last remaining viable prospects.

I'm looking forward (as much as one can in this situation) to the players we'll have here, plus the returns from Sam Jack and (please God) Risto.

Good post, I agree with majority of where your thought process is....Terry now has a new shiny toy he likes in Wright...Terry tried very hard to get McDavid...Terry will sacrifice culture and growth this season to acquire new toy...same owner, same mindset, same result.

I'm not saying that I do. Trading Jack is going to be embarrassing enough. But trading for anything other than players in their teens or low twenties is an absolute blunder if they're not the centerpiece. If you're building a team, fine, get everyone on the same development path. Let them all grow into the game together.

And make sure you have the right (frank)ing coach.

It's all just hard to imagine. They didn't conduct a GM search, and now we're counting on Adams to lead a rebuild. He's doing an extensive coaching search, to lead a tank season? It's completely backwards.
