I'm a 25 year old espresso drinking Starbucks frequenting young man who graduated from York university with a degree in Cultural Studies, and I feel that Kyle Dubas is the most fantastic GM of all time.

He keeps players that score highlight reel plays that I've developed strong sentiments towards, and because of those sentiments, I feel that I need to hire many analytic marginalized human beings to make a case for keeping all of those players I'm sentimentally attached to and who are paid exactly what they deserved, because I'm a socialist, yet I believe that 5% of players with superstar potential should make five to ten times more than their teammates because they keep people like me excited for this hockey club.

And whenever something goes wrong with this team? Whose fault is it? Give me a list of their current and former staff, and anyone who's over 55, it's definitely their fault for staining this organization with their antiquated ways. Now our young, smart, scientific staff currently still need to shake of the yoke of their tyrannical old ways and bring in new fresh faces I am fond of into this organization to make my cases for me.

Try stopping Matthews-Eichel
- Steven_Seagull

Matthews we know can be shut down in playoff hockey.
Eichel will probably be injured....so it shouldnt be a difficult task.

He just got lucky scoring goals in post-season? When it's much harder to score? Just ask AM or MM.
He has the 2nd-best +/- on the team in this years post season.

He's averaged 0.734 PPG since he joined the Leafs.

He's not a bargain, but as an outsider (I cheer for Boston so I'm not "you guys") I'd say his contract has good value. Trading that would be stupid because 1) you still need to fill out the roster and 2) you won't be replacing his offense.

- Nasty_Duck

Exactly, he's not a bargain at all but with his improved play, it is a good deal

Wow, blaming Lou Lams. All GMs make some mistakes, period. But trying to hang the TML issues on him, amazing. Nylander is not the issue your team has.

I hate to say it because I'd love to see Spezza retire as a Senator (I know that wont happen). But this guy is a true leader.

I think a lot of aging stars should be taking note. Like Ovi, Sid, Kane, etc. They've already made so much money that they would barely notice another big contract. But taking quite a bit less than they are worth in order to help build a team that can win. That is a leader.

Good on you Spezza.

The thing is that Spezza is probably a 2-3mil player max these days and has to be used properly. Which to his credit he has done all that could be asked of him.

OV is still scoring 40+ goals (hell 50+), Sid is a PPG two-way monster and Kane is still in the hunt every season to compete for the Art Ross. All are worth what they're getting paid and if OV takes anything less than 6mil, he'll be called out by the NHLPA for (frank)ing them over.

You mean like Brodeur when he signed for 4M with the Devils because he wanted to keep playing for a good team?

I also agree that Sid and Ovi should sign with the leafs for 1m each.

I like that plan

If the unsolicited opinion of a Devils fan isn't proof of Toronto being the centre of the hockey universe then I don't know what is!

It's like there is some secret high pitched squeal that only these special fans of some other teams can hear, they are the fans from other teams who secretly have incredible amounts of envy for the TML. Once they hear their mating call they arise from their slumber where they were just waiting in the wings, salivating waiting for the Leafs (predictable) failures. They scramble up from the couch in mom's basement, spilling stale Doritos everywhere and wading through the empty cans of energy drink to jump online and troll here.

It's a fascinating yearly occurrence that one day I hope to not have to see, not because it's bothersome at all (in fact it's quite amusing) but rather because it means the world will have started to right itself and the Leafs will be enjoying post season success.

Carry on you basement dwelling trolls, carry on!
