At the same time, Pat, wouldn't it be great if the Habs vs Tampa made the finals, then beat Tampa, to put the Sergachev stories to rest? That would be nice... Assuming it all turns out in the Habs' favour.

if it actually comes down to that, of course I'll still believe in the habs' chances to defeat all odds, but I want them to lose now simply because they've already won the cup last year... oh and maybe because they've profited immensely from this "cap salary freedom", that also helps to hate them lol.

Hell yes... The cap circumvention Tampa is getting away with is infuriating. Especially given the bumhole antics the players indulged in after winning the Cup last year.

Can’t say i knew that...but you can’t fix stupid. You can however fix a loophole in the rules and it’s quite simple. When a player spends the season on LTIR his salary doesn’t count so that his team is not handicapped and can compete at the same level as the other team. Come playoffs time, the team who beneficiated from that and are now getting their player back should have to submit a playoffs roster list which is cap compliant. Meaning they’d have to pick between their regular player or the replacement they got for him, they couldn’t have both. That would be in the spirit of the rules.

Totally agree, you shouldn't be able to park a player in LTIR and bring them back just in time for the playoffs. Make any such player be on the books for even 15% of the final games of the season in order to be eligible to play in the playoffs.

I expect Vegas to step it up and win decisively tonight. Let's say 4-1 with Stone scoring the EN while crying.

One of my favourite starts to any movie ever. Bit of an inconsistent ride, but DDL is going nuts and stealing every scene and I love it.

Well put, Liam has a nice role in that opening scene too. It's long and has some down moments but overall I liked it a lot and DDL is just phenomenal. I'm probably going to have to watch it again now.

Yeah...who wants viewers from major hockey markets.

A team in NY and a Canadian team in the finals would mean amazing ratings. Tampa/Florida is a god awful sports market and fans don't give much of a (frank). People aren't staying home in Vegas to watch tv. Iles vs Habs would be the best thing to happen to the NHL in my opinion...plus it would crush advanced stats people which would be great too

I wonder if the ratings would simply be better if it was the rare "All East" Finals because the time demographics would be more fsvourable?
