Difficult to argue against the top four. They all been elevating their game.

Edit: and of course Carey price, without his ordinary saves we would not be there.

I'd love to see Anderson get going, but I'm just not sure him and Kotkaniemi are the best pairing. But there's no way I would split the rest of the lines up with the way there playing. To often Josh drives that lane to the net with the puck with no one else in position to take a pass or grab a rebound, then goes barreling into the boards or behind the net, and the play is over. Someone either needs to be down the opposite side at the same time, or he needs to pass the puck off then go to the net. He's become very predictable and its to bad because he could really move the lever in the Habs favor if he gets going.

I agree that line has probably been the one with the less chemistry compared to others, but perhaps that sweet Byron goal last night will get things going a bit more for them now

He stopped forcing the hits and played better for it. Hits are great at the right time but he's over eager some times and gets out of position

Perry is dragging everybody into the fight without doing anything dumb to hurt the team. I (frank)ing love it

Kinda reminded me fo the year Parise just kept falling.
- Mashadar

DeBrincat scored 50 goals as a 16 year old in the OHL, 50 again at 17 and still fell into the second round because he was 5'6. Not surprised Caufield fell despite his obvious skills.

He's the most consistently dangerous forward not named Toffoli for my money and it isn't really close
- Takemedrunkimhome

agree. he adds a dimension this team otherwise didn't have. not sure what symba has been watching.

Are smaller players with skill going higher than they used to? Gally had decent numbers in junior and was a 5th rounder correct?

If you take out the fighting major for the BS with Foligno, Perry has taken one minor in 13 playoff games playing his style. Guy is earning a raise somehow at age 36

I said it a week ago. I don't credit the Habs with Caufield falling to them but I do credit them for not over thinking it as other teams likely did

Seems to be the trend. Gallagher falling was brutal. Especially if you just saw the way he played. 5'6 guys who have all skill and no will should likely still fall in the draft, but under 5'9 players who have that drive and ability to get to NHL areas will probably (hopefully) get more credit and respect in the rankings.

I will be surprised if Weber plays Friday night. He took a shot of his right wrist and appeared in pain at the end of the game. He's a trooper playing through it, but the pain will increase by morning.

Aside from being the beefest man this side of Fred, what has he done to get all this attention as the "Next Greatest Coach?"

Without any real thought, Price, Petry, Suzuki, Toffoli, Perry
- Takemedrunkimhome

Caufield has been pretty good, he generates more offense than any forward. His speed and puck possession skills are quite amazing for a rookie with so little NHL experience. 👌

Also, Weber is looking like a beast so far.
