God that’s an ugly forward group. Granlund doesn’t have the offensive chops to play with AM and Bust. Maybe Foligno can stir some poop and create turnovers for Willie and JT. I’m just not sure of his hands. Mik is a terrible fit with those grinders and Gally can’t play on a fourth line; he has no defensive sense of responsibility.

But, we have Dougie so I guess it’s all ok.

I think that third line better look different if the top 2 lines are destined to look the same. I like a lot of those names too. Dubas added some un-corsi last year ..I think he'll do it again if it's the right name and they bring the 'compete' element he's talking about.

To really change that third line I think you might have to get rid of at least two of Ker/Eng/Mik. If either Mik/Eng are destined to get bumped to the 4th line then you'd save $$ by buying them out or moving them for nothing. Fourth line almost has to be all 1M or less guys.

Yeah I just think Dubas falls in love with his players too much. I know he could re-sign Gally as a cheap add but if Dubas is indeed married to his top 4 golden boys then he needs to really change his bottom 6. I have nothing against Giraffe or Mikheyev. But I'd be wanting to replace that bottom 6 and keep Spezza.

Leafs need to be tougher to play against. The Golden boys need to play much tougher themselves because they're getting most of the minutes. But waiting for Rich Mitch to get his nose dirty is like leaving the porch light on for Jimmy Hoffa.

It doesn't have to necessarily be through UFA. Trades are good and maybe Dubas gets a team or 2 to retain some salary. But he's traded away alot of draft capital. Maybe try to recoup some picks in a Rielly trade before/after you sign Dougie.

As for D I like Oleksiak too but he's going to be overpaid because he's in demand. Right in his prime. Try to upgrade Holl. I don't mind him but I don't want him in my top 4. Maybe he's part of a package deal with Stone hands Mikey and Giraffe. Just spit balling.

I had it in my mind that Toews was absolutely done - even before this year's weird lethargy - but looking at his stats, he still looks pretty respectable.

So although I love the idea of Chicago giving him away for peanuts while retaining salary...

I really need Vegas to win the Cup and have Fleury be named Conn Smythe winner, or my regular season prediction thread predictions are going to look pretty bad this year.

Love the idea of Toews and there something cool about having a team made up entirely of former captains of other teams.

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest getting a non old, non expensive, non fragile, guy who could maybe do the same kind of thing.
