What if you remove the season where he played injured all year in Columbus?

Ya E Kane.

Phil Kessel like trade with salary retained.

Fights, scores, has speed, skill. PPG player last season.

- Santo_44

sorry, IMO Kane is not worth a 1st, a prospect we picked in the first round last year.

Only 26 of those games were played with Torts.

I like Anderson, wanted the Leafs to trade for him....Hate the contract though.

I'd rather have signed him to a 2 year cheaper deal and risk losing him in FA than giving him that atrocious contract.

- Santo_44

Meh, I’d take him in a heartbeat even with the contract. Every team would probably love him, never get him for a 2 year term.

0.73 is not a PPG

Neither is the 0.88 he has this year

1st would be a late first...even this year the leafs pick 26th.

Amirov is the selling feature.

Kerfoot is the roster player that can slot in.

Looking at the Kessel deal it is very worth it.

You have to pay a little extra for the 1.25M being retained or else that 1st becomes a 2nd.

Kane plays the middle of the ice slot very well on the PP(used to be Kadri) A lot of his goals are quick shots from the D and Kane jumping in close for the rebound. In terms of the lineup he is a perfect fit.

He is annoying as (frank).

He hits and fights.

CJ says he thinks they get a guy on a non American playoff team with multiple years left

Friedman says Leafs are trying hard to get a specific player that changes the attitude and is a GOOD player

It just makes a lot of sense to me

Don't care.

49 points in 56 games. Thats great.

Everyone on here is raving on J Andersons play despite his 29 points in his last 91 games but Kane actually has skill and can score.

at 29 and 5.5...no, people would not like it...josh is 2 years younger.
I like Hyman but not at anything over 4m....not at our current cap limitations

- Fakepartofme

So, if they had the cap space to keep him at 5.5M you wouldn't like Hyman here?

If cap wasnt the issue and didnt exist, I wouldnt care what they signed hyman for.
But the cap is a concern, cant spend 5.5 on him.

I'd take him at 5.5M on a shorter term deal if the Leafs had the space, but they don't, so Hyman has to be squeezed out..

I would really like Evander Kane here, but at $7M it's a lot to take on.. Plus, I'm pretty sure if SJ wants to trade him, they'll find a team that won't need to ask for salary retention

The only fun is we could actually get Kane with a bunch of IF’s

We can’t get Anderson regardless 👍

Kane or bust at the moment, I don’t see it but we’ll know over the next 60-90 days I guess.

In a flat cap world? No way.

if SJ wants high end assets salary will need to be retained...Just like the Kessel deal. If the Leafs wanted Kap then they needed to retain.

And if they don't want to then the Red Wings are always looking for opportunities to take salary back for picks.

Yeah I mean I'd love Konecny or Hamilton but PHI isn't trading him and a free asset out of FA usually means overpaying which the Leafs can't do right now.

Out of the realistic options Kane is my guy, and I hope its Dubas's too.

If Nashville can trade PK Subban and his $9M contract without retaining salary, then SJ can move Kane without retaining salary..

To do what you're suggesting would probably take more than Amirov and a 1st.. Likely need to add in Sandin and Robertson

I’d rather have Hamilton myself...both of them would have been a better fit 3 years ago though.

Kane
Konecny
Seth Jones

I'd go after those three, if there is going to be a 'foundational change'

Sigh. No they wouldn't...see Kessel trade.
