Gutting their future was the quote.
It isn't absurd...It is exactly what GMTM did years ago.
How did that workout having left exactly zero in the pipeline?
Look at that roster and tell me who you think wins that deal in 3 years. - IonSabres
What you said and what I put in quotations mean precisely the same thing. What a waste of time. GMTM making bad decisions doesn’t mean every trade with multiple pieces being exchanged for an undeniably premium asset is a bad one. Eichel is elite, and can be the cornerstone of a franchise and I assure you, 32 GM’s are very conscious of that fact.

I really wish I shared the same belief. Turcotte and 8 might be favorable for buffalo. All these GMs are looking to Chiarelli GMKA so I don't see it happening personally. - Carubba-Kaleta
The difference with all of the Chiarelli bad moves over the years is that I don't recall an auction like we are having with Eichel. Sure, a GM might feel that he can get one over on Adams.... but he has to still pay more than what others are offering. I'd hate to really want Jack but lowball too much if I were them.
The Sabres are softening the blow for a pathetic Eichel return so that the shiny #3 overall pick + Troy freaking Terry and a cap dump doesn't look like the absolute joke of a return for Eichel it is - sbroads24
We want players who don't currently hate being here
