I do like Girgensons at center rather than wing. I always have

Sons are the new larries
- Hank Balling

1 guy in particular fits both profiles neatly.

Sons and larry.

I seriously would be ok with lockport larry back from Arizona. Definitely over eatkidsons

I feel like I could get behind a Zegras, Comtois and 3OA (cap dump of Henrique) if we trade Eichel and 3rd round pick or something

Should have just kept Larrysons. Then could have kept the Larry Lionsons, and Kylesons together.

Absolutely

I think the line of asplund-mitts-tall timber is going to see 2nd line minutes next season.

teams like the sabres have a knack for targeting/acquiring players like josh gorges/cody eakin/vlad sobotka because of the "stuff they bring you cant find on a chart" and then they end up out of the league after they are inevitably some of the worst players in the entire league here

thats where analytics are more than a useful tool. if you're going to try to tell me you don't need analytics to tell colorado is a good team, i mean how am i supposed to refute that point. duh.

no of course not, but it could help a team like toronto not overreact and sign wayne simmonds or jimmy vesey to try to fix their supposed problems

it could help a team like vegas not re-sign cody eakin despite having a great traditional statistic season and playoffs for them

- robz228

i get that, and have no problem with that although perhaps if dubas wasn't so consumed by analytics and/or if sweet lou was still around for and experienced set of eyes, they wouldn't have signed all of those over the hill analytics bums

All of this.

They also could've shed some light that Ristolainen was gonna continue to suck after coach #3, but hey, we needed 3 more before it finally looks like they will

we've been over this numerous times so i don't know why you keep bringing up dubas

he has abandoned what he was supposed to be and chased veteran grit and leadership players who were bad analytically

you can really stop bringing him up as a gotcha, because he's on your side now

Lockport larry could be back. 1 year deal in Arizona?

He was excellent at keeping both teams from scoring.

He's undoubtedly one of the best defensive forwards in the league. He also paid his dues, is a pest, and a motor that never quits. He's the kind of guy good teams should be adding to their bottom six for a playoff run, much like Lazar.

analytics are preeminent in baseball because it's a static sport and they're also useful in a highly fluid sport like hockey

Here's some stats over the past two seasons

Sabres w/ Jack Eichel on the ice at 5v5:
65 GF
61 GA
51.6% (would rank 15th among NHL teams)

Sabres w/o Jack Eichel on the ice at 5v5:
152 GF
210 GA
42.0 GF% (would rank 30th among NHL teams)

he's not the sole reason they've been the sh!ttiest team in hockey...yet he's easily burned at the stake by the bubbles brigade...

the sabres are and have been a crappy organization what's so hard to figure out?
