Yes LA is interested, no they aren't willing to pay the price.

Ryan Mead, some insider for the Rangers just tweeted a pondering emoji. Wonder what that means?

Yeah. It was the hand on chin emoji. People in the comments are asking about Eichel though, and he has been tweeting about Eichel in recent hours and days.

Casey Mittelstadt: 1 year, $874,125.00 (oddly specific number)
- Hank Balling

Not sure if anyone replied to this yet (I didn't go through all the comments). The reason why his salary is "oddly specific" is because it was the qualifying offer. Mittelstadt's ELC contained $832,500 in salary and $92,500 in bonuses. The qualifying offer is a 5% increase on the base salary for one year.

$832,500 + 5% = $874,125

The Rangers will need to pay more value than a western team.

Devils have been after Risto for two or three years according to the insiders. They must be looking past the analytics
- Powerslave

According to what insiders? Not devil's insiders from the sounds of it

Seems more like they looked at the Devil's D and say ah he may fit in but more speculation

Thanks for this. FWIW Friedman gave Hoven a lot of credit for being closely tied into the org.
- TheSabresTaco

It's a little fishy that the team is making things so public through him.

Thanks. I kind of figured as much. I was just frustrated after flipping between capfriendly and what I was writing.

Mittelstadt actually made less money than he did on his ELC fwiw

Donnie probably got him a few more bucks this year though

I believe the bold is only true if Casey hit his bonuses, which seems like a dubious assumption to make.

This. If they really were not interested then it would not serve them any purpose to make it public because that would lessen the price someone else might pay.

He had a $92k signing bonus per year + $832k base.

Took a bit of a haircut to 874k this year

Or theyโ€™re just saying that as a negotiating technique

Letโ€™s see what happens

Definitely one to keep in mind next time we fret about burning a year to get someone signed.

My mistake as I thought it was all performance bonuses.

Should work out for him as he's predicted to get $2M per for 2 years on his next deal.

I was told Calgary was the likeliest Jack destination, with Anaheim in the mix. Feel free to confirm deny PM.

Havenโ€™t heard that one yet from my source but that sounds great. Flames work for me. Far far away

So for Calgary that would have to include Tkachuk and #1 as a start?

seems like players who don't get vaccinated will be actually harming their team significantly

Whether itโ€™s a good idea or not-
NHL teams still leak stuff all the time for purposes like this
