Probably true.

He was never a great shooter. But his inability to make a foul shot has reached epic proportions. It has to be a mental thing its so bad. How is he not at the line every day taking 1000 shots trying to get it down?

They will never win a championship as long as the opposing team can play Hack a Ben during the last 5 minutes of the game.

All spot on. The fact he never improves his shooting tells me he doesn’t have the work ethic. Shooting is absolutely something that can be improved upon with repetition.

They made one pick in the first round. I don't see that as being accurate. The Flyers never made any selection at 11.
- MJL

The had 2 chances to take cole. At 11 and at 14. They passed 2 times. Math doesn’t change because you don’t find it accurate. The better arguement is they got York and brink because they passed on cole.

I’m in the was screaming for caulfield group on draft day. Was slightly let down with York pick. But with the d the way it is York will be pp1qb like krug was in Boston. Add in brink pick for moving down from 11 to 14 and personally I’m fine with it. York has been extremely good at every level so far. I think of it this way, if caulfield turns out to be like debrinkcat and York turns out like krug in Boston can’t go wrong with either. Time will tell

Let's say in the 4th quarter, the 6-10 Simmons is being guarded by a 6-4 guard. So he can't shoot so you think you have the option to post him up. Take advantage of the size mismatch. You can't. In a close game, they'll just foul him and put him on the line.

He's a max player who doesn't want the ball with the game on the line. Harris didn't want it either. Embiid was worn down in the 4th quarter.

I'll be curious to see what Morey does with a full season and offseason to evaluate what he has. I could be wrong, but I don't think Rivers was "his guy" he hired. If they fail to make it out of the second round, does Morey make a change given Doc's growing history of playoff failures here and elsewhere?

I saw the stat that Ben was around a 60% FT shooter during the regular season...not great, but 60% in playoffs means they are winning games. Something is going on between the ears and the coaching staff has not done enough to help him.

Every time I watch Cole Caufield play I throw up in my mouth. This kid looks as advertised, but apparently brilliant Chucky didn't think they needed a dynamic forward like that. Yes, this isn't hindsight cause I was screaming at the TV the night that they passed on him twice! York better be the second coming of Brian Leetch as advertised or Chucky is gonna have some splainin to do.
- Phillywhiteout

Has Caufield even been that good? Not really noticing him too much.

I've been more impressed w/ Phil Danault than any of their other forwards.

And Nick Suzuki has some filthy moves.

Andy Greene has played well for Isles, 38, 1 year 700K, RD or LD, actually moves the puck well. There seems to be a lot of FA's out there this off-season, really no excuse to fill the obvious holes.

Fletch picked Gus last season, I supported the call because to that point CF deserved the benefit of the doubt. Going into this off-season he needs to earn the trust. NO, we really tried but the cap, but the market.

First of all, they didn't pass on him twice. The Flyers selected York with the 14th pick. Caufield was selected 15th. So if York turns out to be a quality two way NHL defensemen, are you then going to revise this and state that Chucky is brilliant for his selection?
- MJL

All this endless female doging about Caufield reminds me of how butthurt everybody on here was when they took Laughton over Maatta.

Tell me why you would care if that was the case? Is Kane a good hockey player? Does he add an element this team sorely lacks and needs?
- hello it's me 2050

Why would anyone (fan or player) want a teammate on their team that only offers negative attention, regardless of their kill level? Even Jagr over stayed his welcome in Pittsburgh, Washington and New York. Jagr seems to have grown up since but this isn’t the case for Kane at the moment….clearly.

Even the BLM movement during last year’s playoffs. While I respect the message, making demands and him being the focus of these demands from the league was ridiculous.

I think most of us were. I was disappointed when they traded down from 11 to 14. Then Caulfield didn't get picked and was still available at 14 and I was convinced they were taking him.

Part of me was also wondering why so many other teams were passing on him. Especially in the range of 9-14.

I think York is going to be a very good player for us.

Yes, his career FT% in the reg season is .597
His career playoff FT% is .521

But for some reason he is shooting .328 in this post season.

If he is even shooting his normal rates......

I do wonder if York gonna be good for us much sooner or later. We still gotta potentially move Gostisbehere. There is a lot of talk of bringing him Jones or Hamilton. We still have guys trying to find their way on the back end.

It's really a shame. They have a superstar in Embiid. He cannot be covered. They wear him out though. In the 4th quarter, he was spent. I'm so sick if this structured substitution pattern. Okay, it's this point in the 1st quarter. Time to take everyone out and bring in the 2nd unit. Why not spot guys in and out? Have some starters in and some out. Mix and match according to the game flow. You could see that the Hawks were coming back with the Sixers bench players in. Milton was forcing offense. Rivers just let it go and did nothing. Lou Williams was going off. Are you telling me Ben Simmons couldn't have come in to guard him? By the time the starters came back in, Hawks had built up so much momentum and confidence that it was over.

He was cool as a cucumber the few games he played at year end. I recall one of those games, where Provy lost the puck on the blue line 3x, and York had 3 difficult keep in's. He didn't seem to put any effort into it; it just came naturally. I was a little disappointed that we didn't choose Caulfield as well, but let's see what the finished product is of both players. I'm optimistic that York is the real deal.

Your comment was related free throws and work ethic...Shaq was terrible and worked at it and was still terrible...your ability to be very knowledgeable and myopic at others is a head scratcher sometimes.
