You okay? Can't take a joke? Is the world just always so serious for you?

You should call a doctor for that.

What was the joke? Trading marner and signing hamilton. Sure, it will be nice to see a big change like that. Reality though, it most likely will not occur. It appears dubie is sinking or swimming with the core 4

But ok, get all pissy about it.

You saying you would cheer for Philly if they were playing
- Nasty_Duck[insert any Canadian team] for the Cup?

This isn't the Olympics. We don't cheer for rivals just because of the country the team plays in.

Exactly.
Winnipeg and Edmonton are pretty much the only canuck teams i would cheer for

Maybe calgary.

Oh FFS.
Some of their starters can throw more than 90 pitches.

doesnt mean they'll get injured.

The joke was a response to your "Nope" reply. I was riffing on your unwavering clairvoyance and complete dismissal of what I posted (which wasn't exactly an "in all seriousness" type of post).

Dubas knows this is his last hurrah if the team fails to advance past the first round. Is he, deep down, absolutely committed to sticking with the Core 4? I'm not so sure.

And even if he is unwilling to move Marner, what of Rielly? And why isn't Dougie a possibility (Marner doesn't need to get moved for that to happen)? (Toronto has some great museums)

Lastly, "pissy"? Oh, the irony.

I mean, sure they can throw more than 90 pitches, but how many of them would be for strikes?

Ryu hasn't been himself his last 3-4 starts.

I think foundational change can mean almost anything, with that said, I think it's not just going to be about re-painting the walls... Dubas is probably looking to fix the roof..
I think it means Rielly is done as a Maple Leaf, he's been here the longest and is an alternate captain. I do think the big 4 will remain intact but it's not just gonna be walking away from Joe Thornton.

They can go out and get more arms for the bullpen. They can’t replace Ryu who wasn’t great last night. With Gassnow down, they have a real shot but they need some help for the pen. Losing Borucki (sp) was a big blow.

Im hoping he's not absolutely committed to the Core 4. But it seems like he is.
If they can get Dougie, great, I'll jump on the Dougie train.
However, with 40m committed to 4 forwards, I dont see how you sign an 8m player without moving out a big contract. Sure they could move Rielly, but I dont think that frees up enough space to allow for them to fill the rest of the holes.

We'll see.

Habs fans have lost the right of complaining about HNIC when the government is shoving them down our throats.

I don't see a Hyman contract working. I think he moves-on.

Koneckny is a very interesting player. He's available apparently and solid contract.

They can't do an "own Rental" bit with Rielly. decide this summer whether he stays or goes.

There has been a lot of chatter around Konecny, I wonder what it would take to bring him here?

If Philly needs draft picks, we can't do that, but maybe a hockey trade like Rielly for Konecny?

Oh like him, hes good.
But the way dubas has thrown money around the leafs cant afford anything over 4m.
And at his age and mileage with the injuries hes had, a long term deal at a higher cap hit wont turn out well.

- Fakepartofme

I'd rather Dubas "throws money around" on superstars than a 29 year-old grinder with a career high of 41 points playing with only franchise players. Overpaying Hyman is a total Edmonton Oilers move.

It's interesting how perceptions are as well, Hyman has not been good in the playoffs and the Leafs looked fantastic when he was out of the lineup. Yet perception exists Leafs can't lose him

Kadri is defjnitely available and reality is that Kerfoot is the best they'll get. His value has plummetted.

Avs are in a major cap issue and even at 4.5, might have to move on for a cheaper, younger player to take his spot
