Trotz is getting a lot from his players, but it's too soon to blame it on Keefe.
They had a really good regular season and when he took over for Babcock, the Leafs went on a pretty good run the year before..
Against CBJ, we couldn't score enough and lost. Against the Habs, it was, well, I still don't know what it was? Bad luck, maybe? - PatC80
Bad Coaching, letting your best players be intimidated and having the calvary run away and take loser delay of game penalties? Not so sure. Running into Price accidently on purpose couple of times for 2 minutes could have created a better results than flipping the biscuit over the glass. Maybe?

Isles hook and grab their ways to some playoff wins. they are lucky NHL doesn't make calls in the playoffs. - RogerRoeper
Hitting is legal. Just because the Leafs love playing no hitters doesn't mean it's wrong to bodycheck an opponent. But like Jimmy Tanner you'll continue lying to yourself living in fantasy land. |

They are doing the old Devils mid 90's routine with less talent. They are not that good.

And they were the most talented in the entire NHL. The age doesn't change that fact. Having Hull and Robitaille as bottom 6 forwards made them very old. They were so stacked. - RogerRoeper
It was always funny to me listening to other teams fans talk about those Red Wings teams. When they won the Cup they were experienced and knew how to win in the playoffs. But when they lost they were called old and washed up and needed to retire. |

Sure. Isles have won more playoff rounds the past 3 years than any other team. Let's not give them any credit at all. If the Leafs were doing this you'd be licking their blue and white nutsacks. |

It’s all luck. Leafs would’ve won more if they didn’t lose in the first round/qualifying round. |

It's not Keefe's fault that Marner was scared.. |

In the playoffs, he has the same amount of Puck Over the Glass penalties as he does goals. 10.9M |

especially when you're already on the PK.. Why not make it a 2 man advantage, right?

The 2001-02 Red Wings were the oldest team to ever win a Cup. You would've traded 3/4 of the roster. - gergeswillems
Not entirely sure this is correct. I see quantum hockey has the 1966-67 Leafs team as having an average age of 28, but with Alan Stanley 41, Bower 42, Wiki has them at average 31, which if correct would be the oldest.

So what is Keefe's job then, if it isn't to get the max out of his players? I don't think Bowman would have given 1st line minutes for lousy performance. |

I get the sense that next seasons playoffs will be a make or break season for the big 4..
Maybe, they have identified the wrong core group? - PatC80
I think the same was said this year. |

Could be the 67 Leafs. Last season with the Original 6. Didn't have to win nearly as many playoff games back then. I remember the Red Wings having a 4th line of Robitaille-Larionov-Holmstrom in the 2002 SCF. Oh the pre cap days... |

He would have been fired by Dubas and we’d be in the same boat.

Agree. In structured organizations, the strongest players use failure to learn, adapting and by not repeating mistakes. Columbus intimidated the Leafs, as did the Habs.

Bowman believed each player had to be coached differently. For example he'd leave Yzerman alone because he was very self motivated. Whereas he'd ride Shanny and want him pi$$ed off. Why? Because Shanny always played his best when he was angry. Bowman would cut his ice time. Make him sit out the odd powerplay. Otherwise he'd float around the perimeter and be invisible. |
