Also still waiting for mjl to offer up some way to obtain “needed” high draft picks since he neither suppports a tank to get them or trade assets such as coots who should “absolutely be resigned “
Also looking for nopa pre draft dated articles on his migraine condition. - Stayin alive
I don’t remember articles about migraines but teams said they were aware….does that count ?

Blame the NY media. Bill Barber should have one it and so should have Mikael Renberg. But there were good rookies on NY area teams each of those years. - backfire
I can't believe Lindros was 4th, behind Potvin, Juneau and of course Selanne.
He had 41 goals and 75 points. |

I feel like a lot of people on here think staying the course is the best way to go about this, I just can’t see it. Why wouldn’t you try to unload these vets this off-season and suffer for a few years? You trade couturier, he will get a haul, get rid of one of jvr/jake in the Seattle draft and then ask G about the NMC (if he waived he could get a nice return as well). Suffer for 2-3 years and with those draft picks, the return from Coots and maybe G, and the slew of young guys we have on the roster now, we would probably be in that spot where we can start seriously competing. |

Yea just compare us to the two worst organizations in sports, I’m not expecting to finish dead last, we’d probably be in the 5-10 range. |

Or, at worst, return to where we are now. Because if the picks/prospects don't pan out, there will be enough cap space to get a few big names. Like the Rangers did.

To further clarify on my Ghost winning Calder in my eyes. I forgot to mention Panarin’s age and having several years of Pro experience. Most the names from Europe people dropped were younger than Panarin. |

Funny how people say Hextall was bad at drafting. He has had quite a few successful picks including:
Travis Konecny
Ivan Provorov
Morgan Frost
Joel Farabee
NAK
Travis Sanheim
Carter Hart
Oskar Lindblom
Not to mention a few names were are excited to see make the NHL
Wade Allison
Issac Ratcliffe
Felix Sandstrom
Noah Cates
-xShoot4WarAmpsx
How do you define successful? I define successful as drafting players that have a timely and significant positive impact to your big league roster. All these are 1st round picks, but not all are successful IMO.
Travis Konecny - middle tier forward
Ivan Provorov - Legitimate top 4 Dman, bubble top pairing
Morgan Frost - ??? hasn't really played enough yet to know
Joel Farabee - has potential to be a top line forward
Travis Sanheim - on the bubble of being a top 4 Dman, but needs to improve
Out of all the picks you list here, Carter Hart and Farabee have demonstrated they have the best chance of becoming top players at their positions. However everyone else on your list is .. meh! Maybe Allison has a chance if he continues playing like he did this season, we'll see. |

Yes, it’s more of a go young and evaluate what you have. Sign a veteran or two on a short term deal if you need to but let the kids play. |

At least Frost has shown flashes though, this past season really would have shown us a better picture but it is what it is. Hopefully he is ready to go next year. - ClaudeFather
Has Frost really shown flashes?
2019-20 Philadelphia Flyers NHL 20 2 5 7 4 -3
Lehigh Valley Phantoms AHL 41 13 16 29 20 0

Try watching the games, you don’t remember when Frost came up and played with G and it was instant chemistry? He slowed down and was sent down but by watching him play you see the elite skill. |

Rangers lucked out with Lafraniere, but point is, they also got rid off a lot of vets and salaries to get to the stage they are now: a young team with lots of potential.
McDonagh, Nash, Hayes, Shattenkirk, Grabner - I am sure I am forgetting 5 more names. Suddenly 80% of their vets were gone. |

Buffalo and Edmonton are two examples of organizations who were completely mismanaged. I don't think they're a good example of "the norm" when it comes to rebuilding....yet everyone and their brother uses them as an example. |

Philadelphia’s got a lot of balls in the air. I figured they’d be in on Hamilton, but, as mentioned above, he doesn’t appears to be their top target. I’m speculating here, but my guesses would include Seth Jones and Matt Dumba (who GM Chuck Fletcher knows very well). It also wouldn’t be a shocker if they have asked the Coyotes about 2019 first-rounder Victor Soderstrom. The Flyers liked him at that draft, and Arizona actually flipped picks with them to move up and take the Swedish defenceman. |

He was 23 when he came into the league, yes he had several years of KHL experience but he was well within the rules to win it, obviously.
Alex Ovechkin came in as a 20 year old with four years KHL experience, in my eyes that doesn't diminish his winning it. |

My issue with NoPa is his compete level. He has yet to assert himself in games. I can't question the skill set because it hasn't really been on full display yet. If he had a little more fire, he could be a solid top 6 forward IMO. Top 2 centerman on this team.
Imagine if he had the same intensity as TK. I don't think we've seen everything from NoPa yet. I'm ready to give him one more year to prove it. |
