Yep. Refs were bad we were worse. We’re a much better team then we showed tonight. Tampa deserves some credit for pressuring us and creating turnovers but a lot of it was self inflicted imo.

We got one call early to go our way, but it seemed after that things tilted heavily in Tampa's favor. The Isles need to settle down and get back to their system. This was arguably their worst performance so far in the playoffs in terms of positional awareness

A couple if Islanders stood out in terms of needing to be a bit better:
Beau has been hustling but has had so many chances over the last three or four games yet come up empty.
Leddy and Dobson...both guys are turnover machines right now.
Pageau and Zajac were not good tonight. Perhaps it's time for Wahlstrom to enter.

I’m not saying the officiating was good it was terrible. You can say that goal with too many men was a momentum swing and you may not be wrong. With that said we didn’t push the play enough imo. It was way to easy for Tampa in the neutral zone and coming over our blue line and our defense looked not like itself. We need Bailey, Beau, Pageau, and Eberle to wake up. They need to clean up their game and I believe they will on Thursday. We got a split shake this one off and adjust not the first time these playoffs…

JGP didn’t play the last 13 minutes of the third. Has an issue and at 4-1 Barry had him rest it.
As I said he just didn’t look like himself this game.

Yeah we lost so I would say the we Have to play sOrOkin as Varly let in a couple softies and Trotz needs to change the lines up, these are just not working and Just won’t work for a long run in these Po’s.

Well, all in all it's a good start to the series. We got the split and now Barry gets his matchups for the next two. I figured this would be an 'L' tonight and was generally pleased that it was a one goal game going into the third. They became undisciplined in the third and the results followed. We can trust that we have a coach who will get them level set and ready to play with confidence.
