Entirely possible Bergevin didn’t know.
But it seems highly unlikely - Rexypoo
If we are being honest with ourselves we can be pretty sure that they all knew. Heads are going to roll.

Brief rundown: Blackhawks video coach sexually assaults two players. Upper management knows about it, quietly lets him go, and does not address it in any way whatsoever.
They then write a letter of recommendation for said video coach, allowing him to secure employment at a high school where he then sexually assaulted a 17 year old boy.
Bergevin, Chevy, and Quenneville are among those implicated - Rexypoo
How are the GM and owner not mentioned? In any organization this information would’ve went to the top and the decision on how to handle it would have absolutely been made by those two. Not the assistant GM’s or coach at the time. The owner / president is most to blame. All the others were cowards in staying quite and going along.

It’s either gonna be a bloodbath from here, or Bowman will step down in Chicago (which is not far off anyway) and the league will bury the rest. |

I'm sure Bergevin, Chevy and Quinn will all be spared and receive no punishment. if a similar event took place here no one would be calling for Larry Simmonds or Heisinger's head while excusing Chevy and Chipman. The blame here would absolutely fall on Chip and Chevy |

I agree. If this was to happen here, and if proven correct, it would be the owner(s) and GM who would take the hit.
Has this case in Chicago actually been proven to be true or are we jumping the gun here?

Nothing proved in court yet but at least one former team official, several different reporters and of course the victims have stepped forward and stuck out their necks on the issue - from at least two different organizations (hawks and high school). The alleged perp. moved through a fleury of teams in a short time including leaving the NHL for a high school opportunity(?!) Lots of smoke, its not going out on a limb anymore to say something happened.
Chevy might be spared the axe but he has also (allegedly/presumably) sat on the information for a decade while the guy is still out there. It reflects badly on him.

This whole situation just seems messed up. Hopefully Chevy honestly did not know anything, because if he did that’s just terrible! |

Watching the Habs beat Vegas tonight, just reinforces for me that this was a lost opportunity for the Jets. I always said that anything can happen in the semi’s and the Habs proved that point tonight.
Never did I imagine Vegas losing to them.
On another note: Pascal Vincent is leaving the Jets to become an assistant in CBJ. That has to be one of the most bizarre happenings in Jets land. |

No one wanted to give the Habs credit but they have four good lines and a big D core but apparently size doesn't matter anymore.
Vegas has really poor center depth and it showed, honestly though I think they're a little overrated on a whole.
Wow that's super wierd but not all that surprising I guess, everyone wants a bigger opportunity, so much for the Vincent taking over for Maurice idea, I'm calling it now I think Maurice outlasts Chevy with this organization. |

The North? The weakest Division in the NHL, right?
And who was it on here that said the Habs defence was just "big and slow?" Know it wasn't you, UJ, but wonder if that person is still thinking that?
If so, "big and slow" ain't bad at playoff time! Different set of rules!
Not surprised to see Vincent leaving. Think one more of the Jets/Moose "brass" may leave.
Not there yet, but wonder how many out there predicted a possible Habs-Isles SC final?? |

Further to this - I predicted, going in, a Tampa Bay - Colorado final. So much for that idea!

I referred several times to the north being the softest division. There was no significant heavy play throughout the regular season. I had hoped that in the Jets case it was because they were saving it for the playoffs - and maybe they did - but the habs are just better at a heavy, physical, tight checking game. Price has been excellent but hasn't had to be jaw-dropping brilliant to get them here as it has been a true full team effort. Habs benefitted from a soft-series against Toronto and a quick one vs Jets. They were the fresher, healthier team vs Vegas and will be again in the final. 25 seasons since the Roy trade, cursed for a generation, I like their chances of touching silver in 2021. |

Teams are fine to have a few "undersized" players, but they better have good scoring skills because puck battle skills, ice/space battle skills and having less "flesh" to absorb blows from sticks/pucks/elbows/shoulders will be disadvantaged in the playoffs compared to competent bigger players.

Brad Marchand might be the best player in the world to have in a puck battle |

Yes. Because leverage and lower body strength are far more important than being a big beefy boy.
This is why a 40 year old Sidney Crosby will still be absolutely capable of clowning Logan Stanley behind the net with 1 hand on his stick |

This was the reason I picked the Jets to make a long playoff run. |

Sure looks that way. I am thinking that Vincent probably realized he would never get that head coaching opportunity here and decided that he might have a better chance with CBJ. Furthermore, CBJ hiring Vincent is intriguing, perhaps some influence from Roslovic? |

Maybe Pascal is the "Laine Whisperer" ? |

Three years in a row a team fires a coach mid-season and gets to the final. Chipman, Chevy, whoever makes the decisions please take note. |

He spent the last 5 years coaching the Moose. Unless Laine was hanging out in the Moose locker room, I do not think that Pascal was. |

And the 40 year old Corey Perry's of the league will still be muscling their way past the Sam Girard's of the league with ease. |
