Not floods, hurricanes, wildfires... but snow. Yes, Toronto is the only major city in Canada to request military assistance for a minor snow storm. - Horsey Sauce
They sit around and play cards most of the day anyways and make good money doing it, might as well put them to work. |

After we lost I took a much needed break from anything hockey. Decided to check out this thread today. Good to see lots of crazy trade talk, unreasonable positions, and endless excuses and ‘IMO’...
Also, nice to see Montreal get spanked. And whoever decided to light up the CN tower in Habs colours should be exposed and run out of Toronto. Talk about shameful, habs colours on the tower? I can only imagine what players in the ‘olden days’ Would have had to say (like Dougie) if that happened in their era... - Hockey_Reverend

Which tired cliche did you like most, Max? My guess is it’s the one that started with “Dubas failed” - Canada Cup
Not really cliches.
the leafs system was predictable and failed them
The pp cost them the series for sure. I said it would.
the players lacked intensity, the core has been called soft for years.
Missing JT really hurt the team.
All true. |

Habs play a team outside of their division and get spanked. Who knew?
- Nasty_Duck
Most ironic play of the year was Chiarot complaining to the ref that he was elbowed, good grief! Edmundson trying to start a fight with a smallish skill forward was kind of fun and sad at the same time. But it really had nothing to do with playing outside of the North. Just a coach that made sure the Habs were the ones with their faces bouncing off the glass. |

Well Karlsson started swinging for no reason. If anything, he's lucky Edmundson isn't a bad guy.
Vegas is a physical team though, and not "we try and be physical while forgetting to play" like the Jets were. Actually tough, strong hockey.
Huge challenge ahead for the Habs. |

Instil systems of accountability
Jumbo brought in to be a buddy
Foligno for a backseat leadership role
That’s all meaningless crap. Saying the PP wasn’t working and JT’s injury was a problem hardly counts as a news flash. The intensity issue is more complex. Some of them were frustrated as hell and some of the guys who were supposed to provide a spark never did. I found all the Canadian series less intense than the US series played in front of fans.
Yes the core is softer than others, especially with JT out. I still think that their complete commitment to a puck possession game compounds that. I’d like to see them add a few guys that allow them to play more of a forecheck game; turn them into pursuers rather than just the guys getting hit. They do well scoring off turnovers, quick strike goals, using their skill and creativity. That would also help the PP. But we need to spend every cap dollar on the top guy on the free agent market |

We can agree that people just coming here to troll are lame
I didnt watch the Habs game, did the Habs get outlplayed, even with a couple breaks? The last thing I want to see is Vegas winning the cup. |

Habs were the better team in the first period, but didn't manage to score so coming back in the 2nd trailer 1-0 was a tough blow.
Afterwards, Vegas had the better chances. If not for Price making incredible saves (watch the highlights, it's worth it) this could have turned ugly.
Overall though, Habs can play this team, they'll need a few bounces going their way (Vegas 3rd goal right fater Caufield scored was a triple deviation in the net... killed our comeback momentum) but they can do it.
But Vegas deserved to win that game, no doubt about it.

Nylander > Marner - TheMussel
Nope.
In these past playoff series he played better offensively...not defensively.
But not overall. |

It wont be with the leafs at that price.
Which Im fine with.
Hopefully the leafs move on from hyman, unless he signs for no more than 4M per.
Which wont happen. |

Which impacts out defensive depth.
Something the leafs have been trying to fix for years.
It seemed this year, they finally found a solution. |
