I was gonna call the cops on Perry for knocking out Tavares.
But then I remembered it's a (frank)ing hockey game and I'm not a Montreal fan. - Leafs43

Gallant to be named head coach of the rangers? Good for him. Does seattle have a coach? I can't see Torts or Babcock being named. I don't think they would do well with selling tickets/media in an expansion market. |

Final remaining Canadian team. I wish you guys all the best.
All I ask is that you hold back your temper tantrum if you do lose. Please do not riot over a hockey game.
Also, police services should not be contacted over something that happens in a hockey game.
Finally - please leave opposing players' families alone. You don't need to harass them over questionable hits.
All the best. |

As a non-Leafs fan, all this Marner trade talk is the dumbest thing you guys have ever discussed. Iāve sat and read these boards for years before creating an account. But this Marner bashing is absurd.
You guys lost because you didnāt want it bad enough. If you had a better system, or actually scored on the PP when it mattered maybe youād finally have playoff success. Dubas failed to construct a roster and instil a system of accountability. Bring in Jumbo to be Mitch and Austons buddy? Foligno at the deadline to take a backseat leadership role. Your goalie is a career backup, and your best dman is a rookie. Also having your captain miss the entire playoffs w/o any accountability like, āoh well accidents happenā is exactly why youāre perennial losers. Itās quite tragic that an original 6 team with such a rich history has become this embarrassing. - Horsey Sauce

Nah, weāre good.
You guys need Marner more than you realize. You just need to surround him with players who can help him win a round or two. |

For what? - Steven_Seagull
Not sure. Philly would be looking at either Nylander or Marner to be a part of that dealā¦Iād assume.
I just think it would be a good look for the Leafs either way. I know Marner and in my opinion Nylander also (either one) would be the most talented player in the deal, but getting back that dman and a different edge (Konecny) is more valuable to the Leafs at this point and from what I understand that skill/talent back would be a great benefit for Flyers.

In the playoffs, Marner has just as many Puck Over the Glass penalties as he does goals. 10.9M well spent. |

Freeing up cap space is the real benefit from any Marner deal. Outside of a trade for Eichel, the Leafs would be giving up the best player in any deal (from players supposedly on the block). |

Thatās not really is forte though, is it?
20g 75a and being a reliable defensive winger is his bread and butter. Although he can score, too. |

Ya for sure - the Cap relief would be a huge win for them.
While I like Marner (just not at all worth the cash) I just think that what Konecny and Sanheim would bring are more beneficial for the Leafs than what Marner/Nylander (one of) would bring. I love the speed and skill but the leafs will still have it if one of them were traded, you know. That Skill/Grit and defensive depth is more valuable in my opinion (to the Leafs right now) than one of those guysā¦again, I like parts of both Marner/Willy games for sure. |

Being effective in the playoffs isn't really his forte though, is it? 18 games without a goal is horrible for a 20+ goal scorer.
It's hilarious though -- we constantly have opposing team fans telling us that the Core 4 taking up 40M is stupid. Then we contemplate Marner as the guy who may be a candidate to move out and we're called stupid.
Make up your (frank)ing minds! |

Marner and Matthews can work.
Just canāt have JT and WN too.
With Rielly, Hyman, and Freddy possibly not returning (who are all on friendly deals) things could go from bad to worse very quickly. Gotta somehow move JT.
