True. Didn't hayes say as much?
Let me know when the Flyers sign a elite level free agent. My bad JVR and Hayes fit the bill. Take a walk. - hello it's me 2050
nah. hayes actually denied saying that. |

back to back seasons signing top UFAs (JVR, Hayes) yet no one wants to play here
I know Hayes was traded for but he opted to not test free agency and sign with us - arichardson22
Hayes signed here because Flyers grossly overpaid...Noone was coming close to that offer . You want to grossly overpay you can get most free agents |

1. very true, the sample size is not even close to large enough
2. good players that play the "system" well get you into the top 4, that is all you ask for if you want a chance to win. See Montreal and the Islanders for examples.
3. Outside opinions mean nothing now, since these players are demonstrating at a professional level they are top prospects. - jd250
I disagree with this. If that was the case, all top 4 teams would receive same odds from bookies as historically, each would have the same chance.
I disagree with this too: what makes them "top" prospects? They are, at this time, viable ones. No more.

Don't be so defensive. Just b/c I called you a moron doesn't mean I am upset in the slightest.
Here is the original post, accompanied by appropriate crotch shot. I am not interested in MJL's motivation, just yours.
Tell me then, if not me, who has ever said what you are gently but sarcastically putting down? - PT21
Please explain "appropriate crotch shot"? What was appropriate about it? |

Whats the value of a 45 pt player who goes missing for weeks on end...7.125M per is GROSSLY over that value |

Winnipeg paid a decent price (1st, Lemieux conditional 4th) for Hayes and every single free agent article pegged Hayes as a top target. I don't get why people say this false idea he was "grossly" overpaid. Fletcher must have known other teams would chase him if we stepped up to get his rights IMO. Literally any deal can be called an overpayment. |

Yeah not thrilled about it but from a players negotiating stand point, I get it. He probably didn't want to go to Seattle though. He doesn't seem like a guy who would wear his welcome out and refuse a trade in my opinion. He sounded pretty honest on Spittin Chiclets saying he saw Philly as a home and chance to win with how our roster was built, too. |

lol i didn't say this. but you keep pushing that "the flyers aren't a destination" narrative, weirdo. everything is terrible, worst it could possibly be. no one is signing here. our own free agents aren't even going to sign here. WE GET IT. |

AN ELEMENTARY, EXTEMPORANEOUS, UNSOLICITED EXPOSITION ON THE METHODOLOGY OF REFUTATION OF PROBABILITY/CHANCE BASED ARGUMENTS IN ANY HOCKEY DISCUSSION
By
PT21, exasperated insufferable schmuck
ABSTRACT: FU
Any time someone uses the term likely/'odds are'/probably/'chances are' etc. in putting form a pov, there are two, and only two ways of refuting it.
1. Look at the past, and find a sufficiently high fraction of times the proposition failed.
2. Look at the hypothesis, and find a way to question the fact that it is in fact a random event governed by the laws of chance.
The following is an example of refutation not of argument but of the basic mental sanity of failed refuter:
"Xyz, which fails your proposition, occurred in abc times throughout history."
This concludes this exposition.

Anyone pay attention to baseball?
As the Phillies, I would offer Shohei Ohtani $300m/6 years.
Imagine a backup goalie who plays 1st line center in his off days.
It's incredible. |

Ok lets play this silly game, since you at least have a sense of humor.
The last one ... keep your powder dry. Ekblad was out. They need to spend more.
But collectively, how many less cups than the Flyers last 25 years? |
