Sanderson had better offensive output on a worse team this year. He’s only a few months older than Power.

I was also doing cartwheels when Ottawa took him so Adams didn’t have the chance too

- Pegullaville

I don't care that much about who had more points over a 20 game sample in college as D men. This season was weird enough with Covid.

Power has the higher ceiling to Sanderson. I'm not really sure it's close either.

And if were gonna play this game, where does Eklund go last year? 12th? 9th earliest? Can we even count 8th since the Sabres are the Sabres?

Would you take Eklund over Lundell at this point? I wouldn't

He's been brought up here alot
I posted it
Not a endorsement
Read it or don't

I know he has and it's absolutely mind-boggling. Just because he was drafted 2nd overall doesn't make him a worthwhile investment. Let some other team take the risk. If he wants to sign a min deal, or at least one that's able to be fully buried, then maybe he's worth a 5th, but the people who are talking actual roster players or a 2nd or 3rd round pick are insane.

Anyone heard anything from the Sabres at all?
No?
Cool.

I assume Adams is still "Learning on the job" and is learning how to conduct interviews at this point.

That's no fun. I need action, suspense and intrigue
- Hank Balling

Hangout at Grider and E Delavan. All the action and suspense you could ever want.

And bonus, once you get shot ECMC is right there.

does he? maybe he'd keep you from adding a piece to put you over the top i guess but one bad contract isn't going to hold you back
- robz228

Wouldnt blame him. It's a poop show.

1 bad contract plus okposo and inevitably a few more.

Not just the contract, but the player , attitude and losing proless goes elsewhere.

That said, skimmer could bounce back. If not its moulson time. Hello ontario California

That's just nowhere near enough for me.

You're either giving me your #1 + your best prospect + another 1st or 2nd or you aren't getting Owen Power

- sbroads24

Make it really hurt for Anaheim.

Ask for Maxime Comtois, their 3rd overall this year, and their 2022 unprotected 1st.

They'd never do that, but that's what it would take, which is why the 1st overall is rarely traded.

I'd definitely do it for Comtois, Groulx and 3. Hell I'd throw in a mid-rounder

I don't think the above is enough.

I'd hold firm at Comtois, the Ducks 3rd overall this year, and their 2022 unprotected 1st.

I think that means you're not trading the 1st and you're taking Power

What is this EK having Donnie to Arizona. Has there been any rumors of him even talking with anyone.

You raise a good point though: if the Sabres want anyone other than Power at 1, they should trade the pick. Someone wants that. And if that someone else is in the top-5, they need to do that.

If they take anyone other than Power at 1, they mismanaged their murrancy

- Hank Balling

Your point is a good one but it places a massive "bet" that Adams can deliver and incredible return from Team X for #1. Based on the Taylor Hall trade, signing Z to 3 years and Eakins to 2 years, I am not confident Adams can pull it off. If Lamoreillo was running the ship, I would take my chances with him pulling off that type of a trade.

Hopefully I am wrong and Adams nails a trade down for an amazing return.

I have a close friend that works for the Sabres. He said the plan was to talk with Rod. When I brought up The meatballs rumor from last week he said that he hadn’t heard that but knew they were going to talk to Rod. He’s not in the office so he’s not a source but he does work for the team and is close to the players.

The way I look at it, it's a risk either way.

If they're 90% sure that Power is the best player in the draft, then take him. But if there's a doubt there, they can potentially triple their lottery tickets and move down to 3, 4 or 5.

To use the above example, it's a question of: are you willing to bet that Comtois, Groulx and Eklund/Hughes/Guenther exceed the value of Power on his own?

It's certainly a conversation worth having.

They can truly solidify the team if they nail a trade

Hearing the @BuffaloSabres would like to interview Jack Capuano for head coaching position, but the @Senators are not allowing him the opportunity.

He's waiting to speak to Lane Lambert, isn't he?
