I remember it very well.

Myers was one of my favorite Sabres players. Last jersey i bought.

I argued with people for many months about this.

People wanted him to add size and hit and fight.

The Purse carrying jokes pretty much originated with Taylor Pyatt.

I get that. Donnie g had them playing on their toes. That's the first step, I'd assume, and the you can go from there. I'd think Lambert would do the same
- Michael Pachla

Cause, you know, head coaches always hire assistants that would play the exact same style and think the exact same way, just like Donnie and Ralph.

I would but That's because we need centers

I get it. And am not really against it this year. However, if they're gonna do that, trade down a slot if possible

bpa. say it in your sleep.

organizational need in hockey means nothing. all being equal, centers are more valuable than wingers, sure, but you wouldn't pass on Pietrangelo to draft, I don't know, Colin Wilson.

Using the pick on anyone other than Power is foolish. If they think Guenther or Eklund or whoever is BPA then they need to trade down.

The Sabres badly need to maximize their assets

No, no they didn't.
Maybe for your generation Sabres fan, whatever age you are.

It goes back to the 1970's with Jocelyn Gauvermont, D for Sabres...add in Bill Heijt (sp).

Hockey is a physical sport. When God gifts one the physical attributes to be dominant and player declines to use it...that is on him, and him alone.

then the need for a center if Jack is moved, is no longer priority

I don't mind the Pietrangelo comp, but for Beniers/Wilson, it was simply a center to center comp by using two guys in the same draft year.

All I'm saying is, you take the guy with the highest future upside. Not necessarily the best player right this second. Not necessarily a specific position. Not necessarily the guy who scores the most.

That Dylan Strome guy had a ton of points as a center. Good thing he went before Marner and Rantanen.

So you want to crowbar Matty Beniers into Jacks spot because he's a center. Or am I missing something.

To me it sounds like Power and Berniers are known quantities to the point that their upside is more limite than the likes of Hughes, Guenther and Eklund. And it really goes back to how kajk ultimately define bpa

I think powers is the best player

so I would pick him and try to get a center via trades

Hajt was one of the best defensive defensemen in the game. Didn't have to nail guys or go running around. Was always in the correct position.

Sure, and there is a list of like 20 forwards I would have taken before Hanifin that draft too looking back at it.

I think you misunderstood my question and I misunderstood your answer.

I pose that, potentially, the Sabres DID pick BPA. Or so they perceive(d).

I believe what you're stating is they should have picked Rossi.

What makes anyone think that Rossi is capable of filling Jack's shoes? Why can't Cozens?
