Honestly it has been pissing me off at this point. It’s laughable. This team has been very competitive and a legit contender for three years now. The lack of respect is incredible. With that said the team feeds off of it evidently and it seems to be fuel for them. I’m not losing sleep but it’s hysterical to hear “the islanders have no talent” or they’re a clutch and grab” team. Both the Bruins and the Lightning were interfering with us the entire game(s). If anything every team we’ve played so far has been clutch and grab. Setting picks and holding because they know they can get away with it

For whatever reason I prefer being crapped on by everyone and shoving it right up their asses to being universally praised. It's so much funnier that way.

Gonna be a short series if the refs keep handing you games

I honestly have heard nothing but praise for the Isles on NHL Network and during the NBC telecasts. Only one mentioning no talent and clutch or grab are the bitter fans of every team that the Isles knocked out or some Leafs and Ranger fans. Who gives a fack about what they think and to be honest the more they soil themselves the more I enjoy it

NHL network to me has been covering them fairly I’ll disagree with you on NBC. They’ve been giving them little to no credit between Olcyk, Jones, and assorted other clowns. Pierre has been recently blowing Pelech but other then that I disagree. Like I said I don’t care I’m not losing sleep about it but I don’t think calling us in so many words “the little team that can” is heaping praise. Quite the contrary actually.

I don't see it sorry but then again I'm not going out of my way to find every little negative thing said about them not saying you are either

100% .. so does this team. They all where those "Prove People Wrong" t-shirts and sweatshirts all the time. It's a perfect scenario for team building.

Not sure what you are listening to during the game but it's clearly not the NBC coverage. I am in a room full of Isles fans who are usually non-stop shaking their heads at the idiocy. The play by Play guys are usually fine but the color guys are brutal.

I thought game 6 against the Bruins was textbook Isles hockey, and they played the exact same way in game 1 yesterday...with the bonus being that Tampa wasn't nearly as patient as Boston and turned the puck over more. Tampa's an adaptable team, though, so I'm sure they won't be forcing passes at the blue line all series, but it's perfectly fine by me if they want to take another game or two to figure it out.

Also, Isles have to get the power play going. You know Tampa's going to cash in on its chances...assuming our notorious payoffs to the refs and league don't buy us the entire series...so the Isles definitely have to balance that out by converting on a few of their own.

Keith Jones is actually the only guy who compliments the Isles play. Olczyk, Pierre, and Micheletti do nothing other than constantly gush about the other team.

Eh, coverage has been a lot better this year compared to last. Last year, analysis of the first two series was just Jones depressed at the desk shaking his head and mumbling something about the 90s Devils

Watching the Isles continue to try and skate through the PK killers early on was killing me

It seems a lot of hockey fans for other teams are hating on the islanders. It’s confusing because I feel if they honestly watched them play how could you not like a team with their work ethic. Maybe my only guess is it’s kinda like the Devils when they were winning cups how everyone hated their style. Unfortunately the Islanders have not had that much success but I guess all the hate is kinda a compliment. To be honest I hated the Devils when they were winning cups and would bash their trap but really it was just jealousy.

Tampa's pp was at 42% coming into yesterday's game.
They are IMO the most complete team in the league, but maybe they're getting too much respect. Afterall, I'm not so sure Flirida and Carolina are as good as Pittsburgh and Boston. I honestly felt both of those teams were capable of presenting some issues for Tampa, yet we took them both out. Tampa is rightfully the favorite in this series, but Lou has made a living off of declawing high powered offensive teams with defensive-minded orgs. We're going to learn a lot about this matchup in game 2.

Yep. Getting outshot 3-0 on the first PP didn't help my stress level.

I think Jones, Sharp and Carter have all been complimentary of the Isles. I even sense Cartwr leaning towards us in many of their intermission segments. Pierre, Boucher, Eddie O and a few others are clear in their admiration for whoever we play

Boston is meh and Pittsburgh sucks. Carolina and Florida are relentless but they are ready to be contenders yet.
