Hot take:
John Tavares needs to sit out the regular season next year to clear his head and recover from any lingering knee issues.
Leafs now have 11M to work with.
I mean, if it worked for Tampa... why not the Buds? - mjones242
Tampa is not automatic to win against a really dirty team. They didn't do well against Columbus in that gong show of a series. Stamkos and Kuch might be receiving actual (not voluntary cap avoidance ones) injuries on good clean cross-checks.

Well, they did beat the Isles last year without Stammer. They have him back this year and look as strong or stronger with a fully rested Kuch.

The offence is fine. Tavares missed 99% of the playoffs. Foligno got hurt and was not the same guy. Hyman was playing hurt.
Losing Snake alone was devastating to this team.
The offence is fine. The defence is still weak and may become weaker yet if Holl is selected by Seattle.
But yes, let's spend more money on forwards. - mjones242
Last year losing Muzzin crushed the defence. This year it didn’t. I’m not against improving any part of the team but going after the number one free agent for the part of the team that worked better in the playoffs doesn’t make sense.
We need to change the way the forwards play and a few heavier offensive guys are needed; the kind of guys you were calling for at the deadline. I’m not talking about $8M contracts

Again, the Leafs were missing a star player and two of those "heavy" type guys you're going on about were both playing hurt.
The offence isn't broken. Price was really, really great. MTL's offence isn't good but were able to pounce on turnovers and were hardly punished by our D corps.

Ok, we’re going to spend $8 or 8.5M for a defenceman.

Leafs defense is pretty small and plays small as well. What pisses me off is guys like Engvall and Mikheyev that are big and play the gentle huggie poo game rather than hit. Guys much smaller on the Habs were hitting at every opportunity. Suzuki had many hits and took very few in return. Its on the coach for sure. The meek shall inherit (frank) all in the playoffs.

Bruins had the same problem. We lost two of our biggest D, and had nothing comparable to replace them with.

What's your definition of "few"?
Gary Moore -no
E Van Halen - no
Jimmy Page - no but not far off
Jimi Hendrix - yes
Pete Townshend -not even close
Rick Emmet - not close
David Gilmour - yes
By the way - I've seen each of the above live except Hendrix. I've seen enough video and audio evidence of Hendrix to say he has few peers.
Just off the top of my head... - Nasty_Duck
Others I would include in that group of yes would be Stevie Ray Vaughan and Roy Buchanan maybe Jeff Beck
Lots of good guitarists aroung, some much better writers than others. Clapton, Albert King, Freddy King, Les Paul, Django Reinhardt, Rory Gallagher, John Bonamasa, Robert Fripp, Ry Cooder, Johnny Winter there are dozens of others
