A center compared to Cozens and the #8 (potentially Guenther) is more than fair IMO
- Fattony1187

Add Iafallo or Kempe along with Maata and sure, then I'm good.

That's a lot to give up for that return, no?

Why not also take cap back to up the return?

- kingcong39

With the expansion draft coming you need to do it now before losing Borgen. I think we are getting two core pieces here and saving a lot of cap to do some other moves

They wouldn’t do that. That’s two high value pieces coming back with barely any cap. Don’t think Risto is worth more than a late 2nd at this point, same with goaloffson. Maybe it’s a little less then we *could* get but a Turcotte and Guenther combo would be two key pieces of new core

Really, I've watched him take shifts off, live in person.

I've watched him lose for 7 years.

What happened to the extra ror practices.

Never hear of his work out ethics or training, just the opposite.

He does show up for work everyday. That's important

Lovers gonna love ☝️

The same exact stuff can be said about everyone on the team, sans the workout stuff with Jack and The Viking.

Sam has proven to be 1RW and now a decent 2C.
Enough said.
Your hate is blinding.

They don't need cap help, they could absorb Rhino's cap hit. And Turcotte hasn't proved anything yet other then being a decent prospect and Sam is worth the 8th.

an untenable situation, imo, as a novice head coach will be to looking over his shoulder at and associate who has his eyes fixated on a head coaching position
- Michael Pachla

Ahh, O see it way, way differently.
Now the Org has to protect 50 yo men and hire guys who aren't motivated to take the next step in their careers when the time is right?
So they never should have hired Granato because he aspires to achieve the pinnacle position in his industry?

Hire the best man for the job, if it is the beard, they should do it.
Stop coddling,
get rid of dead weight built on we like him, he's a nice guy
Hire your successor, that is what good organizations do.

If he's traded, everyone should get ready to be disappointed at the return. I'm going with a 3rd round pick for Risto right about now - and I'd take that.

Why is there fear of losing Borgen when you can protect Dahlin, Jokiharju and Borgen and expose Ristolainen?

What other moves are you looking to make with the $15M in cap savings?

Are you trying to ice a team that can compete for the playoffs next season? If so, is that really a good idea?

I tried to middle it, build for the future while trying to ice a competitive team for next season. This is what I came up with:

Yes.
If he wants yes men who dont qualify for future success, he's the wrong hire.

Basic Business; hire people better than you. It makes everyone look very smart.

he's never worked with the beard...why on earth would he hire an associate head coach with whom he has no working relationsip?

Heard an interview a while back that said the head coach usually picks one and the GM picks the other. Not sure how accurate it is, but it stuck in my head.

i think the gm may have minimal say in it, but they usually leave it in the hands of the head coach
