no way LA does that
- Mentalorgasm5

Don't think it's far off, article said they want a top line player which is Sam and a top 9 winger which is VO. I think Sam gets you Turcotte and the 8th, and VO maybe not those 3 but maybe Kupari. Or maybe Bjornfot, Kupari 8th.

I was basing it off of our ROR trade with Col. At the time, Grigs still had high value, Zadorov had high value, compher was a nice piece, the second was rather high. RoR = Sam and VO > McGinn. Zadorov = Turcotte Grigs = one of the prospects and compher and the second plus the extra value of VO and the additional 3rd = 8. Think it’s rather close. I can see why some would say they should just hold their position tho

Yeah so could I, but they have a overabundance of C in there system, they could use much needed help on the Wings, and Sam and VO could really help there PP to.

Updated below.

You can see who I drafted at 1, 8 and 13.

I way overpaid Krejci and Bonino, but I did so only on short term, 2 year deals to support the young players on the roster.

Also, a look at the farm system:

One more thing.

The Sabres should pick Power and not think twice about it

I’m not sure why they’d trade the first. Depends on the return maybe?

Just let Dahlin and Power grow into game controlling beasts…

I guess Kim just has more information than the fans.

Yes, he absolutely is, as this is not a loaded draft.
- kingcong39

is sam worth the 2nd overall?...would seattle want to start their franchise with him as their center for the next nine years?...would sam like to be close enough to his vancouver hometown yet far enough away?

sabres get power and berniers...

profit?

In my opinion, Sam will be better then Beniers for the rest of his career. But no. For two reasons.
1) Sam ain’t sexy. He’s just a really good, steady player. But they’re starting a franchise.
2) You get Sam for 9 or Beniers for 14/15. Sam is better, but younger guy (also contract, not that they gotta worry about it right away)

Summation, yeah Sam is worth 2OA. But they won’t do it.

Agreed about Beniers. But pick vs trade type thing, especially kicking off a franchise

I agree, just interesting parallels between the 2 of them.

It helps that Reinhart has a strong reputation around the NHL as a pro's pro who always puts in the proper work and preparation.

Really? I feel that everyone on hockey buzz thinks he’s a Coke head who misses practice and didn’t want to do the ROR after practice stuff anymore.

So confused. But this at you.

I'm glad the Sabres have apparently made the decision to trade Jack, Sam and Risto in an effort to rebuild the franchise.
I like the concept Adams has stated of bringing in players who:
a) want to be here and
b) have high intangibles
In addition to, not at the expense of skill and talent

Concept is great, now it is time to prove it with actions.
I hope they don't F-up the rebuild by middling it.
Commit to the youth movement, including position the org to draft high in '22 and invest heavily in proper development

Mentioned Sam to Seattle a few weeks ago.

The return will not be the 2OA.

Sam has 1 year left, guessing we get a couple regurgitated players from who they claim in the expansion draft and some relief on who we protect.

Basically borgen and 2 expansion claims for 1 year of sam with agreed extension.

Whichever team Reinhart is traded to will be signing him shortly after the trade to a long term deal, so the Sabres will get more than what you said above.

That said, with the demand there is, they're not trading Reinhart to Seattle for something involving protection relief.

Sam reinhart is not a "pro's pro" . 😀😀😀

He had a good season, has a bad attitude and contract situation.

He gone

And for not the 2OA

With the above laid out, who are you tapping as coach?

A) The beard.
B) The meatball
C) The bbq.

D) The assistant (Carolina, Islanders, i forget where the other guy is from)

E) unnamed someone.

* caveat, the bod ends up in Carolina or Seattle… I don’t see him leaving for buffalo, especially with skinner as the veteran leader…

Why, would rod think that? Skinner's a pro's pro....

Maybe move him to Seattle for #2OA. 🙉
