Reilly?? Really???? Try Krejci as the other important UFA worth discussing. |

The Taylor Hall from Buffalo showed up in the series vs the Islanders. He is not worth the dollar. I think he is very VERY overated. Some sucker GM will throw a lot of money and term at him and be VERY disappointed. And it will not take long to find out about him. He thinks he is a lot better than he is. Not a driving force on the ice.
But I hope Bahstun re signs him cause I do not care for the Brooins |

I can't wait for Taylor Hall to sign a long-term deal somewhere so we don't have to continually hear rumours about going home to Calgary. Let's recap:
-Hall was born in Calgary and then moved to Ontario when he was 10-12 years old
-his parents still live in Ontario
-his long-time girlfriend lives in Ontario
-her family lives in Ontario
-he recently purchased a massive summer home on a lake in Ontario
-he has a charity based in Ontario
So what exactly is drawing him to Calgary? Pretty sure he looks to sign with an Eastern team... |

Congrats to Islander fans.
Boy did the Islanders put on a defensive clinic in that 3rd period. Wow.

Bruins have the same percent chance to sign Dougie Hamilton as they do Hall. Lol |

such a shame for Boston. They lost essentially 4 of their starting 6 D from last year- Chara, Krug, Carlo, Miller.. and didn't even have Moore available (not that he's anything special defensively). I think you add 1 of those 4 into the lineup and the series goes 7. |

if rask wants to play another year offer 5 mil
krejci 3 mil
reilly 2 mil

Speaking of the Islanders winning. Here is an observation…
Sorokin played Game 1 against Boston and they lost 5-2.
Varlamov played the next 5 games. He won 4 of them. He was named one of the three stars in 3 of those games. His GAA was 2.2 and his SV% was almost 94.
I was kind of wondering if Varlamov read the post here about Sorkin being better than him and maybe it motivated him to elevate his play. It’s possible. We know Burke and Hexy are regular readers here so maybe Varlamov has been lurking while he’s isolated in a hotel room. Hi Semyon. Great series!

Thanks -- yea when they get a 2+ goal lead they almost always do an outstanding job of locking things down.
That was a hell of a series, that top Bruins line is a god damn bastard to play against but the other three lines couldn't carry the rest of the load and their defense was hurting without some key players.
Tampa will be an extremely tough out. I think the Isles can absolutely beat them, but they'll have to play a near-perfect 4-7 games in order to do it, without taking many penalties. Even then...nothing is even close to guaranteed. Tampa can beat you on an off-day if you're not careful. |

After game 1, many Bruins fans were yapping all over cyberspace about how the Islanders would be fortunate to stretch the series to 5 games. This despite the Isles having a very solid roster, one of the best coaches in the game, and having split the regular season series. It's almost like the folks in Boston are too busy pretending to know everything about hockey to actually pay attention to the reality of hockey. |

Hall also played a very different role in Boston. He wasn’t on the first PP unit and played a lot of a more defensive game. If people can’t see he is still a great player they are blind. Is he his mvp year good right now? Nope. But he’s still a play driver. - TurdFergeson
He's got a lot more speed than I expected - haven't seen him much before this year since he played most of his years out west
