2016-2017 and 2017-2018: NYI miss playoffs (Garth Snow GM), Toronto Maple Leafs (Lou GM) lose twice in the 1st round (WSH and BOS))
Lou vs Dubie
2018-2019: 2nd round loss NYI, Toronto loses 1st round
2019-2020: NYI lose in conference finals vs Tampa (eventual SC winner), Toronto doesn't make playoffs
2020-2021: Toronto out in first round vs underdog Hab (worst regular season numbers by any team making the playoffs), NYI still in Conference Finals.
Seems obvious who is the best GM - still there are some Leafs fanboys that actually pretend Dubas is a better GM than Lou. |

Don't complain.
We really have to give Dubas some more time to finalize his grand plan - 4-6 additional years at minimum before it would be realistic to demand a 1st round win.

You clearly don't like the team Dubas assembled.
I did. I thought it was a good team that could compete. But certain players didn't show up - and they lost. The PP was also terrible - and they lost.
The rest of the lineup becomes pretty (frank)ing irrelevant when your two star players sh!t the bed.
It was 3 - 1.

Stupid play. One of many the Leafs made.
Game 6 actually stings more for me since the Leafs were dominating OT.

Ken Holland used to always say "our power play IS our enforcer." It's great when your power play is scoring. When it's not scoring your players are picking glass from what little teeth they have left. |

You expect young players to make these mistakes.
The good ones learn from it and improve.
Galchenyuk never learned.
There's a reason he's bouncing from team to team. Talent and skills are obvious. But he doesn't improve.

Marner vs Nylander playoffs
Do we think Nylander scores more if they switch comp?
18-19 Nylander gets Grezlcyk - Coyle - Carlo - Debrusk - Krejci
Marner gets McAvoy - Chara - Bergeron - Marchand - Pasta -
I’m sure we can do this for the last 2 years also. 🤷🏻♂️

The name you're looking for is Mitch Korn - AdamFrench
Perhaps … I don’t see him as having the influence or guiding principles of Trotz or Lou.
The deadline additions and how Trotz got the guys to adjust after losing Lee was impressive.
Being able to slide Clutterbuck up and down the line up and not lose much in the way of performance is smart coaching.
I can just see Hyman going to the Isles to replace Martin and tormenting the leafs for years.
