Yeah and I hope all 3 end their careers here (predicated if 2/19 want to resign it will have to be likely less than where they are at now) but if they want to pursue greener pastures and not wait around for the Hawks to be contenders....that's their right as well. That's why they have their NMCs.
Lot of balls up in the air here for bowman....biggest one still is 19.....for those wanting to deal Kubalik just to deal him, like the lynch mob wanted to jettison Debrincat last year, all you'll have left for a top 6 F line....is 88-77-12....Without 8-19, who else can play 6 minutes and produce consistently? - SteveRain

I didn't say deal Kubalik just to deal him, I said if the Kings would include Mikey Anderson in a package for him, I am all ears. - LAHawk
Wasnt pointing directly at you.....
IF the package is worth it, anyone should be dealt. Hawks are in a rebuild. I don't know if they have identified their "next core"... |

WRONG: He is introduced to Dach, they shake hands or fist bump and both break their wrists |

I am saying on your original post you said HE made that decision....as IN Dach himself......
What I am saying is he asked to go, the Hawks OK'd it, so if you are trying to blame Dach for going and getting hurt OR the team for allowing him to go and he got hurt....I am saying it's a combined decision.
Dach had to get Hawks OK to go play in that tournament. - SteveRain
I am not placing blame on anyone involved for Dach getting hurt. My original post was in response to PE, who keeps repeating or implying that the Hawks were dumb for either allowing or making Dach play in the tournament (I can never discern what his actual stance is). Dach made the actual decision to go. Without him, the Hawks don't even come into the picture on the topic, so I would not say it is a combined decision. Should he not train in the offseason for fear of getting injured? Every year you hear about guys that blow out an achilles, or mess up a knee in offseason training.
Dach played and got hurt. No one is at fault there. It is a contact sport. Football players get injured in the preseason. Do they stop playing preseason games? Should the NHL stop all their players from playing in the Olympics? |

I didn't see the trade proposals, but contrary to the "book" on older Nylander being soft, he was the only one of the "core" on the Leafs that competed.. - LAHawk He has looked better, but doubt he makes much of a difference for the hawks. By the time the hawks are ready to hopefully contend in 3 or 4 years he will be a UFA. Doesn't seem to make sense to take on a 7 million cap hit now, while we wait for others to develop. Too soon.

Was it considered a hockey play, thus no suspension?

Zad and Boqvist both going for puck of course, nobody covering the net in scrimmage. |

My belief is it was bad player management for the team to let Dach play, even though he wanted to. He is under contract to play for the Chicago NHL team, and knowing this past season was a season where many young kids would be in the lineup, it would have been smart business to have him play the entire season in the NHL. And I bet we would all take the odds against a player getting injured training vs. in game. So yes, anyone can get injured, but games increase the odds greatly.

Well, it wasn't HIS decision. He asked and Hawks OK'd it. Not solely on the player. Team granted it. Team easily could have said "no" but didn't. - SteveRain
And the next time a player wants to play for his country in the world juniors, provided it doesn’t interfere with the Blackhawks, you let him go. It’s unlikely a player gets injured to the extent Dach did and the benefits of playing against the best in the world is a great experience. |

While the Leaves will have to move a big contract to give them flexibility the Hawks don’t have what the Leaves desperately need, a top pairing defenseman. - paulr
Sure we do Paul.
According to the big Russian, Putin and his agent - he's lining up for top 4 pay as I type this.
Eye test be damned. |

Probably, but I bet he wouldn't look as bad if he were on the 3rd pair, instead of playing against the other team's top six. - mohel
Regardless of the cap situation, do you want to pay a 3rd pairing guy $3.5-4mil? |

So should the Hawks have told Kubalik, Hagel, Reichel, Beaudin, Kurashev, Zadorov, and Commesso to not play in the WC?
In all honesty, I understand what you are saying and your concern. I just (obviously) strongly disagree with the stance. |
