Are Kane & Toews prepared to tough out the next 3 years on a last place team?

Assume Keith is moved at the draft or plays out the string in Chicago

they are only signed for 2 more years and at this point we have no idea if Teows is coming back or just going on LTIR. Seab has 3 more years.

Still haven't accepted the rebuild? Well, it is here, and it's gonna take awhile.

I'm sure if Keith or Kane want out the team will grant their wish. Same with Toews, if he ever plays again.

I get it. Rather just throw in one of the young guys. The hawks have a ton of solid bottom 6 prospects. Have to start figuring out which ones can cut it sooner than later.

Kampf isn't going to make or break the Hawk's chances next year.

If the defense doesn't take 5 steps forward and we don't find a "few" more top 6 forwards WGAF about Kampf?

Just a reminder that the Hawks have ZERO cap concerns until they get a bunch of players who are really good. Of course, they won't have a good team until then either.

whats the beef with Carpenter? I get Connoly and I agree....but Carpenter seems fine for what he does....adds some offense down below, great PK player, good guy for younger guys to mold their games after if they want longevity in the show.

Kurashev find of fell of the map late in the season. Need to see more consistency out of him.

Islanders have a great blue print of having 4 lines that roll along. That Martin-Clutterbuck-Cizikas line is a riot to watch. Usually start some games for Trotz as well. Hope Isles go far....love seeing that old barn rock.

Could’ve fooled me. Seemed like he was on the ice every time the gave up a PPG against.

If there's a young player being blocked from the Hawks by an established veteran, Carpenter is more culprit than Kampf, imo. But, I'm not sure who is being blocked.

As long as Kampf stays as 4th line center in that role he provides exactly what the hawks need. His contract is fine even if he getsa slight bump and is 50% at faceoffs since the rest of the centers except towes are under 50%. He plays his role very well even though i don't care for him. No need to move him

That is the rub, isn't it. With both Toews and Dach out, Kampf had to become the #2 center because the Hawks didn't have anyone else. I think that is the hate about Kampf, that he was slotted in way above his pay grade, and he performed like a fourth liner, he doesn't have the offense to play with a Kane and ADB. Hopefully Toews is healthy, Dach stays healthy, and one of Borgstrom, Suter, Kurashev, Gaudette, or any one else on the roster I forgot can slot in at #3 center. That leaves Kampf to be what he is good at, a #4 center.

Yes, it was still the wrong decision to let him play in the tournament. IT ruined a year of his career.

Then he's the one with the bad decision. It was his choice to do so.

Chris Wilkie was re-signed by Rockford. Last seadon he appeared to be a solid two way player with ability to score a descent amount.
.... (therefore)should he forge a third line role I would say he could get up to 25 goals if on a good line and the defensemrn are not for the most part still too green

Theo hopefully can chime in whether he agrees. I am hesitant to say whether Wilkie is better than various other prospects with what they offer on the bottom two lines. Again Theo may chip.in with analysis

I believe you are right, and that the same is true of Zadorov, de Haan and (to a lesser extent) Murphy.

Yeah, I dont' see a roadblock at a 1 AAV he will likely be an easy piece to move at the deadline. Teams love adding/over paying for veteran bottom 6 players that can fill a hole they have for a shot at the cup.

Eh...Zadorov just isnt very good.

DeHaan is old, the game has passed him by, and he's injury prone. God willing Seattle takes him for that "veteran presence" on their blue line. This guy gets hurt taking a dump.

murphy....very curious to see where this goes. How much is he worth? I am indifferent on him.

No clue....but when they signed both for a combined 21 million cap hit years ago, they had to know the day would come their deals would push proven support players out of town. Honestly....I really don't care what they think.....Bowman likely has had a talk with both of them and Keith and laid out his time frame, but it doesn't mean his timeline will hit where the team is cup contenders again.

Kane is worth the deal and likely will get another high end deal....not sure on the years but aav wise......

Keith...no clue....could retire, could go play a few years playing 2nd and 3rd pairing minutes on a true cup contender.

Toews....no clue....could go grow plants in 3 years or could stay or could go play for the jets. I just don't see how the Hawks could justify paying him anywhere close to 10.5 again given all the question marks around him.

Probably, but I bet he wouldn't look as bad if he were on the 3rd pair, instead of playing against the other team's top six.

I think most RFA contracts wont get done until after the EXP draft. not knowing how much they want might be a deterent for a player being taken. IE if Kampf has a 3 X 1.2 deal they may want to grab his becuase of cost certaintiy.

Just listened to a podcast about Doug hamilton and they said he wanted $8-$9 he thought. If a team signes him to a 7 year deal in UFA his contract would be done before he turned 35 6/17 is his Bday.
