It’s crazy. As soon as the 50/50 is announced they’re gone. Ten minutes to go in the third and they are streaming out. I guess they want to beat the lineup at the Shark Club.

Not sure if the shark club is still there. As you can tell my season tickets ended back in 2014.

You are exaggerating again. The majority of lower bowl fans stay until the end. Unless the team is getting smoked

A monkey could have? Gillis begs to differ.

Funny to think that Gillis was responsible for Tanev, Bo, and Markstrom. Those were cornerstone pieces for the Canucks.

I think Gillis was a bad GM but his legacy is starting to look a whole lot better with every passing season of Jim Benning.

Will probably never know, Gillis never had high picks, but he might be the one exception to the rule.

Benning and Green will survive if they make the playoffs...50/50 imo

The irony is Benning will sign on with Buffalo and they will win the cup that year .

As you stated previously, most Canuck alumni go on to find great success once they are out from under the Canuck curse.

Pretty much . The only thing missing was Tanev scoring a hattrick and a Markstrom scoring an empty netter.

Letting Toffoli and Tanev go, allowed Benning to snag Vessey and Boyd. When a plan comes together.

I thought he missed the start of his first year ?

End of it, with a knee injury that required surgery and was out of action for 10 months. He wasn't the same after.

A fucking monkey could have drafted at least what he has gotten for this team.
I am not sure how a GM that has this many high draft choices, and has as little to show for it, as Benning does, while still maintaining his job.
I am not going to continue beating this dead horse.
As I said a couple weeks back, I am somewhat optimistic that this off-season will go decent and some nice changes will be made, before the season starts.
I reserve the right to change my mind after draft and free agent day.

Too bad . I still think on one leg he was more entertaining than Vesey

He was horrible at drafting. And like most GM's after a lost cup run (Like the Flames 2004) he got sucked into 9-10 more questionable contracts and put NTC's on all of them expecting the team to have a '5 year window' of cup runs. Not to be. Then refused to dismantle the club when it should have been done in the summer of 2012. Then signed Torts...on and on. He did some great things though. The 2010-11 years the team was awesome and in 2011 rounded it all out with Torres, Lapierre, Ehrhoff, Hamhuis, Malholtra, Samuelsson, Higgins, Rome and a few others who were instrumental in the cup run. Full marks to Gillis for those two years. But his bad drafting and NTC's set the club back almost a decade. JB just needs two more years and his drafting will show big time.

Markstrom was acquired by Luongos agent, Gillis couldn't get a deal done. 6 years and 2 players. Gillis was amazing at drafting and college UFAs.

Boeser was 23oa, on par with Bo for how good the pick is for us. 14 spots later. Benning has put staff in place with more success in rounds 4 and 5 than Gillis does in his entire tenure outside Bo at 9oa.
