I think adding to the current staff, which was small by the league standards, is a positive step even if Green is the wrong coach.

Commodity. Green had several phone interviews with him. His reputation made him an organizational target: the minute the Canucks were made aware he was available they were the first team to call. If your 1A option is willing to join the club you get it the (frank) done before someone else can

With huge cap troubles. A terrible contract. Missing their best player. Money tied up in players that aren't producing. Smallest reserve list in the league.

Only 3 times in the past 7 years have they had a full 7 draft picks.

The years before that they really sucked at picking in the at 5th overall in the draft.
