Thanks Carol!

I do not want Luongo back, the Canucks need to seek experienced NHL executives that are not part of their alumni.

- Marwood

As Carol indicated, the Sedin's may have some input in Luongo coming back here to run the team. Maybe he'll keep Elmer as a scout.

@Vantel

I remember it was split. Half the posters in here wanted virtanen, half wanted toffoli, very little wanted tanev and stecher.

I personally wanted toffoli and leivo

- Codes1087

I know I wanted Toffoli but only for two years. I haven't changed my mind. I can almost promise you Tofolli would not be scoring thirty goals on Canucks as the Flyers poster pointed out.

I definitely wanted Tanev and Stecher gone and still no regrets.

I think if you looked back two weeks before Free Agency on Carol's old blogs you would be surprised of the number of posters in here that said do not sign Toffoli to a four year contract. They thought he was too slow.

Their counter offer was Jake was an 18 goal scorer the previous year and they would rather go that way.

I remember the discussions I had with quite a few telling them he was dropping in Greens opinion and was heading to the fourth line.

It turns out it was a bad decision one of many but it was the general opinions in here. VGH was one of the few guys that stood behind TT but there was not many others.

All very true, but one hopes that their GM has a "win" when dealing a player, prospect, and two picks for a veteran with Cup pedigree. Just seems too much for a pure rental on a rebuilding team. Especially when that player wanted to be here. Timing and execution seems all wrong.

Sums up JB's tenure and rebuild plan pretty nicely.

Thx very much Carol.

On the Habs Bieksa did say in one of the first HNIC broadcasts of the year that the Habs were the best built CDN team for the PO's and could make a deep run if Price gets hot and here we are. Good call Juice.

On the Luongo note it's nice to see Hellybyuck fall back down to reality a bit after trash talking the Oilers for not being a very good PO team lol. Looks like Hellybyuck is just another version of Lou all regular season and no PO's.

I would love to see Luongo come back as GM . He should immediately sign himself as a back up goalie and get rid of that last year of recapture.

Toffoli was def a player they should have kept but you are fooling yourself if you think it would have made a difference this past season. If things return to normal next season, VAN should bounce back
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Would tend to agree here. I for one wanted TT back but feared Green wouldn't use him properly like before. So it was kind of useless bringing him back especially when we are trying to rid ourselves of contracts lol

Normal season we should see a major step forward and in the right direction with htis excellent leadership group here.

For our 3c, rumors of Nolan Patrick wanting out and Philly having been interested in Schmidt. Maybe something there?

Exactly what MG said yesterday, and he's right...

"I think where most teams stumble is they don't have a decision making process. They don't stick to it no matter what the stress level is"

I would have taken toffoli at 4 years. I dont think he will make Montreal regret it in years 3 and 4. He's a damn good player and hasn't regressed at all in the last few years.

Thanks Carol, great blog although I didn’t see any mention of World Championship MVP, 6th round draft pick, leading goal scorer, Flames forward, Andrew Mangiapani.

Good to see TT leading the way for the Habs.

With Loungo’s record now as GM he instantly becomes a candidate for future duties in Vancouver. Wonder if he’ll come in and insist on making Bubbles captain.

- K-man25

Good to see Mangeopenis doing well. Kids a good player. Hopefully the Flames can suqeeze him in with more contracts like Marky and Tanev coming for Calgary.

Patrick doesn't like the spot light I heard or criticism. He would be right (frank)ed in Van.

Thx Carol, Personally I think Luongo shouldn’t be welcomed back. His heart has always been in Florida and he (frank)ed us over. Beat it Luongo

Well said. But it's works good for the whiners guild to use TT as a crutch but it is what it is lol

I for one did want TT back but cheaper and on a 2 year deal. The 4 year deal wasn't relly the right move give the direction of the club and the questions around Green. He probably would have buried TT on the 3rd line lol

Isn't Patrick big time injury prone? Maybe not the best move?

Vancouver is a fickle market.

Sign UFAs don't sign UFAs . No matter what you do your screwed.

Pearson played 121 regulation games scored 40 goals and signed to a 9 mil contract for three years and fans jump all over it. Next sentence fans say they should have signed Toffoli who played 10 games and had 6 goals to a four year 18 mil contract ( almost double) .
