So who's fault is it that they lost their best players? Unless youre again talking about injury, which I've already gone over 10x prior.

I hope Pettersson was not our best player. He sort of stunk this year.

Excuses are facts that you didn’t find a way to overcome.

Was a Covid outbreak a factor that could affect the team? What did your team do to make sure you didn’t deal with an outbreak? Did it work? If you did have a positive case what did you do?

Was the divisional realignment something that a team could have anticipated during the off season? What did your team do to prepare for that eventuality?

Does the league send out the schedule to each team for approval prior to the commencement of the season? What did your team do to make sure that players weren’t exposed to excessive games/day, that there would be time for practice etc?

"Losing our number 1 center for half the season was a huge reason for the way the season went" was the sentiment over the last few weeks. Which isn't wrong, it does hurt.

And I agree. I think Brock was our best player by far. He was fantastic

The rule is if the opposing team shoots it from their side of center and your goalie covers it, you can't change (ie. the goalie should have played it but didn't)

Thats funny because 2 of those rookies replaced the production for every player they lost combined.

If by "very good players " you mean Perry and Polak? then no they didn't

Who was expecting Dallas to miss the playoffs??? links??

Except not every team dealt with full covid team outbreak, losing their best player and poor schedule.

I remember this guy said it…

I expect the Stars to miss the playoffs.

Again, all those things could have been factored into summer decisions. I knew that there would be no cross border games, how did the division surprise them? When the schedule came out and we all said “man that’s a brutal schedule” and we hear later that Jim saw the schedule and just thought everyone else had the same kind of schedule so he approved it… come on yourself.

The Jets had to play every away game in a different time zone. Both Calgary and Edmonton played most of their games in another time zone. It’s the same every year for teams on the west coast.

- 1970vintage

It affects them quite a bit. You have built your team for the West style and all of a sudden you are not playing in that league you are playing in a league with faster players like TOR and MTL . You can't change your roster in three weeks.

Who knows maybe next year back in the West we might make the playoffs seeing we are back playing LA SJ LAK Ariz and Habs may not make the playoffs against the TBL TOR BOS Car FLA .

Jets did need to play half there season in a different time zone five of those teams are one hour difference not 3. You have travelled you know that the body needs to adjust to the time zones.

I think you and I both know who's fault it is if we are talking about the canucks. I've said many times, I agree with Benning on letting tanev, markstrom and stecher walk. Regardless of what the players have said about losing key guys in the off season, I agree with that decision. However, when you lose key guys due to inability to even sign them due to poor signings and cap management, it's no longer an excuse, it's a fact that losing key players was on poor GM decision making.

I am not sure Petey was even top 3 lol . I did not like his year at all.

For the record I don't use injury as an excuse . It is up to the team to have depth.

We’ve been hearing for three years how fast the guys on the team are. I don’t buy your “western style”.

Also, playoffs concluded Sept 28. New season started what, Jan 19th or something? That’s a bit more than 3 weeks…

I know you haven't. The team has no depth.

Our bottom six consisted of two waiver pick up, two free agents (hawryluk and michaelis), rookie fill ins, macewen, gaudette, roussel, Beagle and Sutter.

It's very much a thing in Hockey. It's actually used plenty by Eastern players.
