Now that I am done work and have time... On the GWG last night:
1/ I don't know how he does it, because it is not size, but Suzuki always comes out of those puck battles with the puck on his or a teammate's stick. That kid has tenacity.
2/ People talk about CC needing to shoot more, but the kid has crazy vision and slick passing skills.
3/ When is Toffoli not in the right place on the ice?
Seems fitting that line scored the goal last night, and they will be fun to watch in the next few years.
Also, have we ever seen anyone more excited than CC after the win? - Mashadar
I know a lot of people here might not like him that much but Bergevin was pretty excited after that win, I thought it was really nice to see a GM so happy about his team loll

There were reports of a specific offer and term that was turned down but it's been denied by Phil's camp so who knows but I think the report was either $5 or $5.5 x 6. I think. Honestly forget at this point despite all the debate about it - Takemedrunkimhome
debate, what debate?

Bergevin is a good guy. I truly think he cares about his team and his players.
Just remember when he talked about Gallagher, guy was almost tearing up ffs.

Well some reports said he refused a 5M for 6 years contract before the season started.
He had a "meh" regular season but is bouncing back pretty damn high in the playoffs.
So who knows anymore. - Scabeh
I might do 3 x 7m but yeah with the flat cap things are weird too. |

I understand how small sample sizes work and have you seen Detroit’s roster? I will take all the legit top 6 help I can get. - Feds91Stammer
I'm good at math and I do too.
Career Playoffs
Tatar: 40 gp, 6 goals, 6 assists
Danault: 27 gp, 1 goal, 7 assists
Danault at least brings dominant defense. Tatar is a scorer (Habs regular season leading point producer since arriving) who produces at a sub 3rd line clip in the playoffs. Samples aren't too small to start to analyze the numbers when you consider the small opportunities the playoffs provide

agreed, we know he can score goals, he just needs to get rid of that playoff monkey off his back, his offensive contribution could turn out to be very useful - Pat1993
Well what I don’t get is he’s extremely effective even when not scoring but there’s no narrative to support that so if he’s not producing he’s seen as negatively impacting the team. |

Case in point lol. Also not too worried about the playoffs. Tatar also was the playoff MVP in the AHL. |

Well you never know, Tatar might bounce back in the playoffs with the right setting.
It just hasn't happened yet.
Just like I'm not completely writing off Matthews or Marner having a great series one day. These are talented players, they can still score.

Tatar is 30, turns 31 in 2021. Comparing him to Matthews and Marner isn't apples to apples. His last two teams both made Tatar a healthy scratch on their way to a deep playoff run, that says a lot. There's also a long history of players scoring less after the age of 27, let alone 30, not a long history of players scoring more after 30. Impossible? no. Likely? no. The math currently says if a team with Tatar on it plays the max 28 games in the playoffs and he isn't scratched he'll contribute about 4 goals and 4 assists. Pay for that whatever you want...and I like Tatar |

Oh I'm not saying your wrong.
But I'm a fan of believing in a player, even when the odds are against him.
After all... I did tell you about Lehkonen and his goals right?

I'll give you Lehkonen. Nobody has kept that faith like you have. Doubt he ever gets back to his rookie season scoring but he's been huge since being back in the lineup |

If we're doing this kind of logic, no player has ever won the Cup with their stick shoved directly up their ass either. Doesn't make it a good idea to try it, regardless of sample size |
