Think he'll be bought out?
Would be costly as hell but it's better than paying Bob 10M to be a backup to Knight. - Scabeh
Ship him to the Kraken with assets.
This is my new solution to everything.

You only watch Leafs games? Plenty of good hockey still being played.
That Colorado/Vegas series is especially crazy. - Scabeh
No, but after the Leafs choked my interest level is at a all time low.

So a team that otherwise during a normal season would not have made the playoffs is now in the 3rd round. |

Trade at 50% retained. Some team will take Bob at 5 million, and the panthers will save 2 million in cap space compared to a buyout.
Problem is Bob has a NMC. I wonder how much of him signing in Florida was because he thought they were contenders, how much was it for the 10 million, how much was for the lower taxes, how much was it because of the weather. If the last two are very important, and he doesnt' mind sitting and collecting his pay, they might have problems moving him. |

It would take significant assets.
This isn't a Marleau dump. This is a 40+ million in cash dump plus the cap hit.
I doubt Florida pony's up the assets. It would honestly have to be insane.

Yeah, I guess it depends what's important to him.
Look at DeAngelo, he could have scratched his contract and sign with the Habs for little money but a chance to bounce back in the league (not sure that would have been such a good idea) but he decided to stay home and cash in his check.
I don't blame him, but he made a choice.

It's amazing how watching your team, which was predicted to go deep, get eliminated can sour your desire to watch any other hockey for the remainder of the post-season. |

What a pass by my boy Cole Caufield yesterday!
- Scabeh
The play was the forecheck and the guy left open. That was the only 5 minutes of the series I watched. You’re welcome. You were toast without me. |

Nah, the Leafs need low cost fowards like Robertsen. Unfortunately there likely is no fit between the teams. I like Gibson alot too. - Archaic
I don’t see the point when we have Campbell signed for cheap this year.

I'm a fan of the 19:30 start time to be honest. Even 20:00 doesn't bother me.
Gives me enough time to feed the kids, clean up, start the stream without missing the beginning of the game.

When there is a salary cap yes it is very important.
But I know you don’t care about that.
It’s okay that I don’t agree with you on Price, no need to get defensive on everything else I say. |

It seems most of you still haven't noticed that having a good team is better than having great individual players.
Vegas is the best example: they did a great job by picking the players with the right attitude/character in expansion draft that would jointly form a great team (ready to be bottom feeders for 2-3 seasons) -- by having such a great team spirit, they constructed a Stanley Cup contender from scratch.
Then added a few other character players (Stone as the primary example there) and again might reach the next round after defeating one two top favourite teams to win it all.

Campbell was fantastic last year, I would very much like to see what more he has to give.
I’ll take the 5M in cap space thank you. |

Oh come on. I was just teasing you about the Campbell story we talked about earlier in the year.
No bad feelings from me here bud.
