Problem is they’d still have to expose a good player in that scenario, unless he’s re-signed with a NTC/NMC

I suggested a similar scenario where Colorado gets compensated for exposing Reinhart to Seattle and Buffalo gets Girard or Toews

However, if Buffalo is taking Power it doesn’t make a ton of sense anymore

I was reading that, there are a few teams out there that will have some trouble protecting everyone. Perfect year to have draft capital and squeeze some decent players from teams.

Avs need to re-sign Makar, Landeskog, Grubauer, and Saad......plus fill out the rest of the roster......can't imagine there is any way they could also fit Reinhart's $$ in there

agreed that he's better than Saad, but i think he'll also cost about 2 mil more.....Reinhart makes 5.2 now, gotta think that his new deal will come with a decent raise. i would expect he'll make around with Nylander makes (close to 7)

This makes much more sense than the proposed Van deal. I am not sure Van would want to move Hoglander straight across for Reinhart. Cost controlled 20 year old on the rise is exactly what they need on their team right now (what every team needs, actually), and I would say Horvat is a better 2C than Sam would be.
