right!?...he did that in nashville and took them as far as they could go without any real dominant scorers...he gets to washington with ovi et al, employs his system with the best goal scorer of his generation and the caps win their first cup...why the caps didn't extend him is beyond me |

Bucky, can you explain to me how, or why, Kim Pegula would have any say in who Adams keeps or trades? - RichardRoma

tbone's great, thanks for asking. Both kids don't have a perpetual cold right now, so you know it's summer. Just set up his first birthday party for next month! I don't need to tell anyone here that time moves a little too fast sometimes.

Convince Skinner to waive to Seattle. Trade Jack, Skinner and Okposo to them for #2. They get a player in Eichel way better then Beniers to start their franchise. They have the money to absorb skinner and okposo.
We draft power and Beniers. Sign Sam to a 7x7 (we have the money now). We suck next year but have Sam play the tough lines while cozens and mitts develop. Keep powers and Beniers in college.
Draft top 3 next year.
In 2023 bring Beniers and powers up along with our top 3 2022 pick. We will have TONS of cap space without having Eichel, skinner and Okposo (25 million from them!). Sign the top 3 FA to one year deals at over cost (like we did with Taylor hall)
Win in 2023 already with the hired guns and our new core. Decide what FA to sign long term or just roll with your new core that got a taste of winning.
No your not losing on the Eichel trade, it’s a long term plan. Yes you want that cap gone from skinner and Okposo in this scenario, it’s another long term plan. You keep Sam because when you start winning he is only 26/27 years old. Sum of all moves greater then individual parts.
Your core is young and studly and you have a great cap. - Fattony1187
Did some quick math:
30% of the cap last year and we got 55 points total out of that.
If Jajeffyle Okinnerel were a $25m player, he had less than a PPG pace for an imaginary 56 game season |

Definitely knows how to adjust and use what he has on his roster. |

It’s why in the grand scheme of things it’s a great trade. We get the top forward in the draft and have 25 million to play with in 2023. And secures ya a top player in draft next year. It can really lay the groundwork for a Stanley cup contender.
Seattle says yes because they can hit the ground running and have a top center in the league under contract. |

Rhino made a good point on this yesterday - if we're losing Eichel and Reinhart (and maybe Risto although I am still checking to see if the CBA legally allows the Sabres to trade Risto) then keeping Skinner doesn't really hurt. Gotta spend money somewhere to get to the floor.
Also I think the Sabres really need to support the young core of the Sabres better than they did with the last group or we'll end up in the same place. Skinner - for all his warts - is still an effective player.
Okposo is largely irrelevant due to the minimal amount of term left |

Do you have proof of her direct involvement in personnel moves? Did she threaten to fire Botterill, if he didn't move O'Reilly? - RichardRoma

Skinner ($4m retained) plus Olofsson and the 2021 1st for Patrick Kane. Who says no?

Fine. They need to hire a true President of Hockey Operations. Failing that, Terry needs to sell the team. |

Exactly. At this point you ride out Okposo. Cap space won't be an issue for the next several years.

You know what else does? Drafting a player like Jack Eichel and not (frank)ing it up. If you trade Eichel away you will be looking for him for 15 years. |

that's even better, plus...
skunk had 21
mitts, 17
10 of olofssons 13 points and four of his five goals came at even strength
dahlin 4+8 (all goals even strength)...skinner 5+6 |

You must of skipped over half my post. The skinner money is going to be used elsewhere. He absolutely needs to go. His contract is too long term. My scenario you keep Reinhart anyway. Your gonna hit the floor |

This team needs to go to an owner, whose wife won't meddle in personnel decisions. |

Why are we retaining money on skinner. If we reduced 4 million from skinners contract then it’s not even bad. There is no point in doing that |
