perhaps he should be crying about the lack of secondary scoring on his team...of the 10 five-on-five goals scored by boston, six have come from the top line, two from the second line (hall has none) one from coyle and one from a d-man
- Michael Pachla

Yeah if it wasn't for that 1st line this series is probably over already.

Peterka and Cozens could be a treat to watch together. Two guys who can go north/south in a hurry and hound on pucks.

Yep, need to get another pick or 2 in the top 10, wouldn't mind adding Bernier Eklund or McTavish cause they play that game to.

good point...boston has always pushed the envelop on taking penalties...last night they got called and it bit them hard but i highly doubt they change a thing when it comes to their style of play

Bucky, can you explain to me how, or why, Kim Pegula would have any say in who Adams keeps or trades?

Playing a team that plays there style, maybe not as much offense. But the Islanders can definitely get under your skin.

Do you have proof of her direct involvement in personnel moves? Did she threaten to fire Botterill, if he didn't move O'Reilly?

Go and find a few articles on the subject, but when you're boss tells you to do something and don't usually something bad happens. And it wasn't just ROR

This seemed pretty damning:

On Tuesday, May 26, Kim Pegula publicly backed Jason Botterill, saying he’d return for a fourth season, citing the fact that they had “a bit more information” than fans as the reason for his retention. Three weeks later to the day, the Pegulas announced that Botterill was fired, claiming they “needed to be heard”, and Botterill supplanted his predecessor Murray as the shortest-termed GM in team history.

Not only are they making decisions, they're bad at it and even flip flop. When asked about why so many of their friends and family members are in high positions within PSE, Kim had the following to say:

“I think it is understandable that we would want to put in place people we’ve known all our lives and who are part of our family…”

I'm not one to call her a waitress. She's more successful than I will likely ever be and she did a lot more than marry Terry. That being said, she is making some pretty impactful decisions for the Sabres as a whole and that's pretty irrefutable at this point. What's worse, they're cutting funds, corners and staff, all while trying to maintain a position that they're hands off owners.

How the Bills have done so well with this outcome for the Sabres is something I'm still trying to get answers to.

i don't mind what they do...trotz makes it a battle of attrition and winning the stanley cup usually means winning in different ways...

quick note: not saying that they'll close out he series with boston but if they do their record vs. tampa (who look to be on their way to the conference finals) in barry's first year was 1-1-1 then 2-1-0 in the second...even tampa struggles with the isles

Convince Skinner to waive to Seattle. Trade Jack, Skinner and Okposo to them for #2. They get a player in Eichel way better then Beniers to start their franchise. They have the money to absorb skinner and okposo.

We draft power and Beniers. Sign Sam to a 7x7 (we have the money now). We suck next year but have Sam play the tough lines while cozens and mitts develop. Keep powers and Beniers in college.

Draft top 3 next year.

In 2023 bring Beniers and powers up along with our top 3 2022 pick. We will have TONS of cap space without having Eichel, skinner and Okposo (25 million from them!). Sign the top 3 FA to one year deals at over cost (like we did with Taylor hall)

Win in 2023 already with the hired guns and our new core. Decide what FA to sign long term or just roll with your new core that got a taste of winning.

No your not losing on the Eichel trade, it’s a long term plan. Yes you want that cap gone from skinner and Okposo in this scenario, it’s another long term plan. You keep Sam because when you start winning he is only 26/27 years old. Sum of all moves greater then individual parts.

Your core is young and studly and you have a great cap.
