Heard Rossi on Madden today. It's Rossi but thought it was worth discussing.
The one thing he was adamant Malkin is planning to take a big discount to finish his career in Pittsburgh. Claimed he knew 3 years at 18-19 million total has been discussed. It will be put on hold because of the knee.
Much harder to figure out what Hextall and Burke want to do besides add some grit that can keep up.
May consider shopping Rust if they don't plan to extend him.
Know how hard it will be to add a bigger guy that can play with Sid. May consider moving a guy like Guentzel or Marino to get him.
Not convinced they stick with Jarry and would probably move him if they can. Expect at least a vet who can push him. - Tojo.
Rossi is probably the one writer in Pittsburgh closest to Geno, even if he is a bit of a donkey. When I say bit, I mean a big donkey. |

But...but..EK said he's staying with Quinn. Lmfao - 668710
The only relevant Eklund is the one about to be drafted in the top 10. |

Rossi also said Mario talked to Geno after the playoffs. Told him how much he appreciated him playing on one wheel. Told him they will "take care of him"....referring to a contract.
Sounds like Geno will get an extension at some point. |

If Malkin comes in at below $6.5 mil against the cap I wonder if people will STFU - Victoro311
Hoefully use that extra space to sign Gudbranson and JJ. |

Guaranteed. I bet enough Influential ppl are complaining just for the fact the the two highest scorers are kuch and stamkos. I imagine a simple rule like unless you are an Injury call up from the A that you need to play at least 1 regular season game to play in the playoffs. - 10inchTerror
NHLPA would fight any thing like this. |

I think the thing here is we really don't know what Pens players Hextall and Burke value and which they're willing/wanting to part with. They might like Rust's game better. They might feel they get more in a trade for Jake and have someone in mind in mind to replace him.
It's hard to know what they'll do since we have no precedent yet. - Rinosaur
No doubt, if Rutherford were still GM, the entire plan would've been leaked to the media by Rutherford himself. These two tell you good information while keeping their thoughts to themselves. That's how you do good business IMO.
I want to trade Rust purely from a contract perspective. If he doesnt give us a discount, it will be hard to resign him. I dont think we can afford to lose him for nothing in FA.

Exactly. I trust Rossi on almost nothing besides his info on Malkin. He's supposed to write Malkin's autobiography after his career so he'd be stupid to throw out false rumors about him. |

Big break for Carolina as Stamkos scores a second after the period ends. |

He'll talk about his sales rep anecdote BS again and how this poop doesn't fly in corporate America. I actually worked in Chevron's corporate office and watched the GM of the office get promoted to be a special advisor to the CEO because she sucked at her job but they couldn't justify letting her go to her years of service to the company. I don't think people on here know how corporate America works and how that analogy actually sucks ass for getting Geno moved out. |

I wonder what the Avs would want for whichever of Toews or Girard they can't protect. We could definitely use a 3rd defenseman worth protecting. |

I did not see that Tampa series ending after five games. It was a much closer series than the results would suggest, but just didn't see that coming. |

Haha right. All I’ve seen is people fail upwards and it’s actually impossible to get fired for work performance. |

It's basically just grunts and contractors that get fired. Everyone else is an HR nightmare to get rid of so you're basically stuck begging them to leave by giving them a new position you don't think they'll want. |

It's even worse in state government jobs. You can't even move them around. You have to keep them in the job they suck at. |

Lol yeah. All my clients are government and we all talk about it all the time when we have to work with someone who's a complete incompetent. Once you have a G pay grade, enjoy the ride. You only have to work hard if you want to. |

Yup. I have a few friends who work for the state in TX and NJ, and they tell me all the time they're stuck with these morons. They say the only way they can get rid of them is for behavioral stuff, but they have to document every little (frank)ing thing and build up this giant case.
