I don’t think I remember having been on such an emotional roller coster with this team ever. I mean I was really excited and confident prior to the season, then after the start I got completely over excited with the brilliant start, then there was to slow way down to hell, followed by slowest climb out of there ever... and now well, the excitement level is going up so quickly it’s scary....

About 3 weeks before the end of the season, in my mind, the season was a loss. So any wins going forward from them is a bonus.

I just do not think the Habs are as good as they have shown, vs their opposition playing terrible (or injured / suspended) perhaps also thinking the Habs were beneath them they did not have to try.

Or maybe they just wanted to see MB get a 3-year extension, as a laugh.

All good.

Habs still playing.

I know someone did report that but i cant remember which one it was. Guess anything is possible, we’ll know soon enough, GM hardly ever start the last year of their contract without an extension when they dont want to go

Sounded like the stress was becoming too much if I remember. Pretty sure it was last weeks 31 thoughts

Maybe he moves to President of Hockey Operations or something like that - more on the long-term planning fo the organization rather than an in your face type-role, while a nw GM comes in to run the day-to-day stuff.

Likely only 2 people know the truth.

I mean GM is where he's best at trades and alot of the FA he brought in were bang on.

It's really the amateur scouting departement that has not given him a gem with the exception of MAYBE Caufield.

My plan is to fire Timmins and hire Quintal as a president to oversee Bergevin.

Also I was Goeff Molson all along

Even then I'd argue Caufield fell in their laps, almost every one of us would have made the same pick. Once Philly took York it was obvious and Caufield was handed to them on a silver platter. I'll give them points for not over thinking it at least

Newhook and Krebs right after look like decent picks, always risky to draft a 5'6 guy

Coming off a 72 goal record breaking season. Breaking goal records held by guys like Kane and Matthews is pretty big. Although the timeline in my head says Suzuki was still in Vegas at the time so going C may not have been bad either, despite drafting Kotkaniemi the year before

Both guys were in different leagues at the same age. But he's got the chops like DeBrincat to show why idiots seeing size and not play style as detriments are going to be unemployed soon.

Oh I know. I go to a lot of Knights games. Matthews was a Euro pro at the same age. Still a big record

Going to be hard to beat Adam Fantilli might get him though. With the advanced training in young people, I feel like we're going to see a lot of the more reasonable records broken going forward as kids are better younger.

*Looks at how the Staal-Armia-Perry line is dominating the Jets*

it's balance. if you had 4 Staal lines it'd be like icing all fat guys in Ice Hockey. the Habs are light on top-end talent, but they're actually a nice blend of different types of players. didn't so much work in the regular season but so far in the playoffs it's balancing out very nicely.

Some places yes. Pros doubtful. The league will never be in a place where somebody touches Wayne's records in my opinion.

Those US kids are so (frank)ing skilled though it's becoming obvious the training differences as they're brought up

I just looked it up. Suzuki was in Vegas when the Habs drafted Caufield. He came to Montreal right before the following season
