Jake in a full 82 season is a 60 to 80 player. Where are you getting your numbers outside of his actual stats?
As for Phil Kessel. Voracek and Kessel both had 43 points a piece. You could trade one for the other but I don’t see the point. - SuperSchennBros
Of course you don't see the point. 1 has 3 years left o his deal. 1 has 1 year left.
Who do you think had better offensive player to work with Jake or Kessel? Kessel was also more effective the pp. But hey keep Jake he is a core piece.

I don’t think anyone here knows what it takes to be a pro hockey player or can relate to what Patrick has gone through to this point. We’re currently talking about trading Voracek for Kessel. Well Kessel had an awful season for his standards one year ago but this passed season Kessel returned to form. This season Patrick Laine, Seth Jones and multiple Flyers could have been better.
One season doesn’t define a player. Definitely not a young one who made a giant leap from juniors to the NHL. If Patrick has a repeat, I get it, move him. We do need to give him one final shot though. - SuperSchennBros
What a horrible terrible idea. Jake can be a huge part of the flyers success going forward.

I'd do a Voracek-Kessel deal in a heartbeat, imo. |

Jake is 31. Kessel is 33 and he’ll turn 34 when the next season begins. Tell me what greatness you expect from Phil Kessel in Philadelphia on the downside of his career? What greatness did Kessel bring to Toronto in 6 seasons of his prime? |

Good lord you just dont get it. I expect his contract to expire after 1 year and having cap space. I expect to them possibly move him at the deadline for an asset. This trade gets them out of Jakes contract. Gets rid of him after years of nothing. You with me yet?
On the downside, fair enough. Guess jake is on the upside.

That’s fair enough. Not a big fan of Kessel but I don’t hate him either. I like Jake’s game better. His contract won’t look so bad when that cap starts to go up again. But if they wanted to get out of his contract this would be a way. |

I wouldn’t say that, he has a ton of experience now albeit just with the Flyers organization. I have more questions about Gordon leaving then about Lappy replacing him, if that makes sense.
On the flip side, this might mean a new voice behind the Flyers bench gets added to the coaching brain trust. That could be interesting.

Agreed.
And another note, Kessel was a player that all his critics called “lazy”. I don’t think this is true of either Kessel and Jake. Just saying not sure that trade changes the locker room or mentality of the team. - peesinwind
They both can do lazy things sometimes, but neither put up those kinds of numbers consistently if they were lazy. When I watch Jake, the #1 thing that always comes to mind for me is stupid. He makes so many stupid decisions with the puck it drives me crazy.

This isn’t what you originally said. There was no talking of money or length in deal. All you said is you preferred Kessel over Jake moving forward and undervalued Jake’s numbers and were way off in doing so. |

I originally said Jake for Kesel is a win win. Nothing more nothing less. The fact you can't understand why (several reasons) is something I cant help you with.
As far as what greatness did Kessel bring to Toronto in 6 seasons of his prime? The answer is the same for what Jake has brought to philly in his decade here. |

Saying Kessel is a win-win without stating why is your mistake.
As for your response to what Kessel has brought to Toronto, how is that a smart jab? It sounds like you wanna complain for another 365 days to me. |

You are clueless. The fact you cant figure out why its a win win proves that.
Who is complaining? Made you look like a fool so take your medicine and move on.

Hey Bill, gonna throw a name at ya. Do you ever think Fletcher would think outside the box for a player like Vince Dunn? With the Blues already looking for cap space, who knows? Instead of giving away the store for Jones. Enjoy the time off, thanks. |

If it’s a win-win over length in deal, you would be correct but that’s not what you said to begin with. Nor should anyone do the research (when I’m pretty sure we all have better things to do on a Sunday) then to confirm something you never explained. All you have to do is say what you’re trying to say properly. You basically said Kessel was a better option moving forward because Jake wasn’t getting it done. This speaks nothing of money. |

Saying it is a win win is properly. But you didn't say why it was a win win. Take a walk and have a Blessed night.

ASF is reporting that Patrick will ask for a trade. Wonder if there’s anything to this. If it’s for real, not cool that this is out as it will make it harder to get full value. |

If its for real the Flyers almost have to trade him. No way he can play here now. The fans will be brutal.

Nolan Patrick wants out of Philadelphia
Anthony San Filippo who covers the Flyers speculated that Nolan Patrick wants to be traded. On his podcast, he gave the reasonings.
“The reason Nolan Patrick switched agents is because he is going to request a trade,” said SanFilippo. “Nolan Patrick does not want to be here anymore; he doesn’t like the criticism that he’s facing, he doesn’t like the spotlight that’s on him, he doesn’t like the coach, at all. I don’t think Nolan Patrick wants to be here.”
That’s quite an indictment. When it comes to Alain Vigneault’s track record with rookies, this one is easy to believe. Patrick has struggled in Philadelphia ever since they drafted him and missed time with migraine issues. He’s been speculated to being dealt for awhile now and it may just happen this summer.
Patrick is likely going to be used as a piece in acquiring a defenseman. |

Yeah. But if he publicly comes out asking for a trade then we are going to get pennies on the dollar. Fack. |

We probably would anyway. He will probably be part of a larger deal.

That’s prob the best case scenario. Then he can become a star for another team. |
