I get the Patrick pass to a certain extent but IMO it’s severely flawed.

NEITHER nico or Patrick were projected as star players. They were projected as safe good players with little risk to bust. That they should have nice careers. Miro makar and Petterson were projected higher ceiling possible. Obviously more risk with that. My major problem with that is given the gift of lottery and moving from 13 to 2 omg if there ever was a time to swing for that high ceiling! Even if they drafted any of miro makar Petterson (take your pick hexy) and you miss at least it’s understandable that you took a swing. Instead hexy was sitting with a 3-2 count bases loaded bottom of the 9th and he knew he was taking pitch no matter what. He took the safe play. If that was Stevie y how would he have played that? With that said I don’t crucify hexy for it but really wish he’d have swung

I don’t think any of this is true, unless you have a link proving otherwise. All the talk was surrounding Patrick and Hechier, with the number 1 pick leaning towards Patrick. If there was even the slightest chance of higher upside for any other players, they would have been chosen.

They unfortunately had the 1 bad miss in that draft but you’re right, let’s go with your made up scenario when almost every team drafts based on what they deem the best player available, especially at the top of the draft.

The only thing I can maybe blame nopa for is a few years ago he took some massive headshots in games. If he didn’t report symptoms from those hits I’d blame him but understand as player especially young might not want to for many reasons right or wrong. I think that may be the case because clearly the kid suffered multiple concussions and unfortunately it looks like it may affect his career. But other than that nopa shouldn’t be blamed

Well years ago could get loads of free things by signing up with email accounts and things. Free subscriptions free promos tons. Can’t as much now. Funny story god gotta be close to 15-20 years ago at first union center at flyers game they were giving free towels away if you signed up with email for I forget what the hell it was but anyways before game /during intermission/ after game I just walked around booth to booth they had set up. Lmao got like 20 towels.
