I think people are still misunderstanding my point. He skates like Ennis to my mind and he projects to be a guy who will annually get at least some Selke votes like Hecht.
His floor is that 20+30 forward who is good at defense
His ceiling is much higher - Hank Balling
Point taken. And the overall consensus here seems to be that a 20/50 guy is not worthy of a 1OA |

He's a Ennis/Hecht hybrid? - Michael Pachla
No i would say that Describes kent Johnson
matthew beniers is a cocky son of gun he will literally toy with people when his team is on the Penalty kill on Purpose and kill time off
I can't think of a player in the NHL that does that maybe some one can help or a old nhl vet

Depends on his ceiling as well. Beniers screams definition of high floor, low ceiling to me. Which is good in what he’ll do. Power had the high floor and a higher ceiling of the two imo. Just the position he plays is redundant for Buffalo |

He did it a couple times against not great competition.. he tries to do that against McDavid, pasta, Kucherov, MacKinnon they’ll eat him alive. |

The question then becomes, do players tend to reach their floor more often, or their ceilings?
Be a good study. Get on that and report back. 😀 |

It only works if you are faster then the other players. Beniers May be faster then ROR, but he’s not blazing fast by NHL standards. He tries to pull that on the PK and gets picked and the other team scores, it’ll be a fast way to lose the confidence of teammates and coaches. |

The best comparison for his ceiling is obviously Toews.
His offensive play is similar. He’s a goal scorer |

How about Michael Peca?
Everything I watch and read reminds me of him, but less physical. |

I see the Pegulas continuing draft domination and acquiring Wright then Bedard and lose all of these players by 2025.

That's what I thought. But was rebuked with Captain Serious.
Is Peca worthy of a 1OA? Not sure. Depends on what happens with Jack and Sam, I guess |
