That's what I thought. But was rebuked with Captain Serious.
Is Peca worthy of a 1OA? Not sure. Depends on what happens with Jack and Sam, I guess - Michael Pachla
Could it simply be that in this year's draft, that is the kind of player available at #1 and it's just different then most drafts in that regard? |

The best comparison for his ceiling is obviously Toews.
His offensive play is similar. He’s a goal scorer - sbroads24
I dont like ceiling comparisons. If he doesn't become Toews then everyone will cry that he isn't Toews

Everybody is already crying because he's only going to be Jochen Hecht. |

Meh. I don’t think it’s that lofty.
He and Power have the highest ceilings. And I don’t buy the low floor for Power. I feel like it’s size bias in reverse now.
Every big, tall defensemen must suck because the old boys club loves them. It’s not always true. Power has a pretty sweet skill set |

3x cup winning, selke trophy recipient, conn smythe winner, 5x all star, gold-medal winning, 100-best NHL player of all time Jonathan Toews.
What could go wrong with that comparison? |

A style comparison is not the same thing just the way they play.

They play very similarly. Both projected to go top 3, skilled two way centers and both played college hockey.
No offense, and I know exactly what you meant but it’s a more accurate comparison than Jochen Hecht.

I dont think it's fair to a prospect to invoke a name like Toews. I'm just not going to do that |

The question then becomes, do players tend to reach their floor more often, or their ceilings?
Be a good study. Get on that and report back. 😀 - Powerslave

No offense taken. As I mentioned, the purpose of the Hecht comparison was merely a way of saying Beniers figures to get at least some Selke votes in his career. That's the whole of the comparison.
I really like the kid and I think he'll be a good one |

Yeah. Could very well be.
It is what it is and that's why I have no problem with them trading down a few spots |

dang ,nice rite-up, Hankster. I get what you're saying about the boy Beniers and I think we need some of it on our squad. It would be great to see him a Sabre, regardless of draft position, but I also have a thing for Powers and would love grabbing him, keeping Skunk and a healthy Jack (with a minor attitude adjustment), and finding one young man who can stay healthy and play in net.
Now, how's that coach search coming?

Agreed, and I’d have no issue taking him #1 tbh. It’s he or Power for me |

I use the mobile version, so I never check 😂
I had messages in there from Homie (sorry, Homie!) and others from months ago that I never saw.
People probably think I'm a d!ck 😂 |
