I think beady was talking Beniers doing these things, and Hecht being Beniers lite. But that’s how I read it? Idk, if we draft Beniers and he’s Hecht out the gate with a bunch a room to improve, I’d take it. But Eklund all the way for me. - SDSabre

Some people need every thing spelled out for them. That's the thing Fitz and Pach both seem to have missed.
If we selected Beniers 1st overall and he was a carbon-copy of Jochen Hecht right out of the gates - A 20-goal, 50-point guy who is good at faceoffs, physical along the wall, has a knack for scoring timely short-handed goals from behind the goal line, and is as defensively sound as a Forward can be, I wouldn't mind one bit.
Why is the Jochen Hecht part of this clung on to so hard?
Well he was a LW and still went 40% on the dot. I wouldn't call that terrible. He was in the Selke voting 3 times in his career. He was the quintessential defensive-forward.
This was my response to Fitz when he said Hecht was Terrible at faceoffs.
Man, I really don't want to do with these guys' poop today.
Have at it people. |

I already clarified this. His career stats equal out to 18 goals and 45 points over an 82 game season.
People call Reinhart a 60-70 point guy all the damn time and I never come on here splitting hairs. I just don't understand why you and Fitz seem to scrutinize every little detail in my posts over the past few months.
I am not speaking in absolutes. Pretty uptight stuff going on here most of the time. Okay he was 45% on faceoffs, well let me clarify, 43.2% over his career, well he wasn't a god damn center so yeah, I'd say 43.2% on the dot for a LW is good. - BeadyEyedDouche

Also just going to apologize in advance be=cause Jochen Hecht scored at a .55 .ppg pace over his career and not a .56 as I had previously stated.
Just report me now so they can banned me. |

No it's not
Therefore I don't draft him at 1
But I do believe he's going to be a good one - Anderdog
Agreed but this is a big decision beacuse lets say Dahlin is horrible on that side or they both just dont work good together.

He seems like a guy that just loves playing the game like brady but likes winning
Hopefully hes not here next year though if we draft him |

Well kinda saying that, I want more than a Hecht with the 1st pick. Wouldn't mind a Marleau |

Julio is old, injury prone and a huge salary. 2nd round is about the best they could get. |

That all I was saying yesterday.
Did Hecht have an impact? Sure.
Great player, but he wasn't a "great player at '1OA great'".
If I want more from the number one God damn player in the draft, am I wrong?
Give me Toews, Bergeron, Krejci. Not Hecht. |

I see the Pegulas continuing draft domination and acquiring Wright then Bedard and lose all of these players by 2025.
Exciting few years ahead |

I think people are still misunderstanding my point. He skates like Ennis to my mind and he projects to be a guy who will annually get at least some Selke votes like Hecht.
His floor is that 20+30 forward who is good at defense
His ceiling is much higher |
