Yes and no. It's their right to hire someone they're comfortable with. That goes for any business owner. Call their references, background checks, etc. They still struggle with making the correct hires.

Gotta agree here. There's no hype train McDavid or Matthews whatever, but just like every single year, an exceptional player will come out of here. Several, in fact. For once, maybe the Sabres can find one.

More than half these kids didn't get a normal year. Lots of OHL kids didn't even get to play. The Jack Quinns of the world will go in the 4th or 5th rounds instead of the 1st because of the missed year.

Kucherov went in the second round in 2011. Ranked as the 17th best international skater.

And Pastrnak. And Josi. And Perry. And Marchand. I don't need to go through the list. There will be guys. Just not tomorrow guys. (frank) the Russian factor, (frank) the 'he needs more strength'. Reach for the (frank)ing stars, Kevyn, I want the guy with a massive ceiling.

I was thinking outside the box with the Columbus trade, especially if you could get Foudy or Bjorkstat included. Those other 1st could be used to pluck players from other teams. There are teams that are gonna have to move good players Tampa Vegas just to name a couple. Especially if Rhino stayed.

Why though. Why ship out Skinner if you're not even competing? All he does is bring negative trade value. Cheaper to keep 'er.
