dogs are my absolute favorites but i actually love pretty much any animal. i just love watching them do the things they do. i almost stopped the car on my way home from work because i saw a particularly chunky groundhog chilling in an dry detention pond area

That was Fountain.

Big dogs have short life spans and pure breds are more susceptible to health issues. Especially if the breeder is not looking to breed out certain issues.

My great pyrenees/lab died at 6.5 too. My longest lived dog so far made it to 11, lab/greyhound. My cousin's mutt made it to 19

They are birds. They are about as social as parrots but less dependent, and their bite is nowhere near as strong. Plus they love cuddling.

We had him cremated so i can still say hi every day.

Funny thing was, in the euthenasia room, his last words were.......

Yeah mutts have it made! Best of both worlds.

My first dog was a medium schnauzer and my family got it when i was 1 year old, it was a pure bred and lived to be 18 (frank)ing years old! It was like my brother ffs, part of the family, it might have been in the (frank)ing will too for all i know?? LOL

I think schnauzer or the likes might be what we go for...I love bigger dogs but flats are expensive here so we have to make do. Although I can honestly say I have no idea where people get their dogs. TBD in half a year at least I guess.
