In the process of buying a house. I didn’t realize houses came with stress and anxiety upfront before the down payment and moving in. - SuperSchennBros
LOL, yeah I work in the housing market for 25 years, stress, it is a part time job for buyers to close. Careful, it is not over until the wire is sent and you have the keys in your hands. |

Depends on the cost. I have to wonder if we give him 10 aav (as some suggest he would get) would it deplete our ability to field a good roster overall?
Personally I would rather see them make a play for David Savard or Adam Larsson in FA.
I don't think we need a superstar. I think we need another guy like Niskanen.
People talk about how using the circumstances of the past season is an excuse. OK fair enough, but that doesn't mean they weren't still circumstances that contributed to the problems. We don't live in a one size fits all world nor is the league a one size fits all place. Not all teams and rosters were going to react the same way. To think otherwise is ridiculous.
I think this team is not as bad as they showed.
Next year will bear my opinion out one way or another. - MBFlyerfan
Honest question. How did nisky look in playoffs last year ? Yeah not good at all. Exposed. Last thing we need is a nisky type |

The way you do it is move on from Jake, JVR and Ghost. Ideally if Seattle is interested in Jake, you sweeten the deal to get them to select him. You then include JVR and Ghost in trades since I think both are very tradable right now. Laughton is not part the core and I actually liked that signing as long as Laughton plays in the bottom 6 which I think is where he is best and what he is being payed like. G is here and I don't see any reason to get rid of him. You just swap the existing contracts between G and Couturier after next season and you move on with both. - jd250
No one wants Ghost. He could have been had for free and 30 other teams said no. CF was rumored to have tried to move him before with no takers. So you're going to have to pay to get rid of him either in retaining salary or taking on some other team's problem.
I actually think Jake is an effective player but I agree it's time to move on. If the Flyers can get Seattle to take him, I think that opens some room for some other players to take his minutes. If the choice is Jake or JVR, I'd keep JVR.

How does the playoff performance of one individual in one season after a two month lockdown extend to other people in different seasons?

He had an uneven playoffs. Some rough games but also stepped up big in a few of the third period closeouts and OTs. |

If the Flyers are in the playoff picture, and I believe they will be. This is not going to happen. - MBFlyerfan
I think if all they want to do is be in the playoff hunt every other year then you are right. If they want to build a potential contender then the G move is the kind of hard moves you must make. Way to soon to guess who will be a playoff team from the MET next year but right now Flyers are outside looking in. Caps..Pens..Isles arent going anywhere. Rags are only going to get better and they are better then Flyers now with the youngest team in the NHL. Devs are going to be a tougher team to deal with. Get something for G and then resign him if they want he would bring a very good package |

After being off ice for months, playing in a bubble with no family or outside world contact for almost 2 months, and getting within one win of the conference finals?

Seattle wasnt around in the summer. Can really see them taking him. Hoping for Jake but dont see that happening without significant added assets |

I am good with this as long as they then add some speed and skill upfront. the speed can be short term deal, the skill should come from a good hockey trade, we lose one but get one, a goal scorer would be nice. I assume we will lose Ghost one way or the other and they really don't have a PP QB 1 right now, they'll need to compensate.
I am a believer most all players will bounce back next season, how can't they. - wcorvette

Honest question. Did you consider Niskanen a high end defenseman?
Or was he the right fit?
Maybe they are the same player, maybe they are not. I hope Fletcher finds the right guy, not necessarily the biggest name or contract. - MBFlyerfan
Agreed. Only problem is, the Flyers community keeps thinking that a high end defensive acquisition takes us to the promise land. Unfortunately, it will only bring us BACK to the point after the 2020 season, and those problems. If you recall, the Flyers got shut down by the Isles, and we were all talking about a sniper afterwards. That sniper or some gifted offensive player, is still needed, along with a couple other things. Other posters have mentioned the special teams, agree with that. Until they can reach top 33% of the league in special teams, it is just going to go around in circles again. Patrick is great kid, but he's killing us with a -30 and no special teams productivity from a young player - who should be your penalty killers. Losing Grant, Thompson and Pitlick hurt more than realized. Those guys won some face-offs and gave the top 6 a chance to rest, plus some secondary scoring. At the very least we should have found a way to sign Pitlick, given the age of the other two. But, not resigning older, productive players have to be replaced. That didn't happen. It's why Aube-Kubel struggled.

We were outshot, and outscored in the first round by Montreal. We were lucky to win that series and make it to round 2. Severely outshot and outscored in the second round. The narrative that we were 'one win from the conference finals' is very misleading imo.

It's not a "narrative". It's factual truth. But all that matters in a playoff series is whether you get to four wins first. Nothing else. |

It’s called context. In the context of the playoffs last year that team was lucky due to many factors. As evidenced by horrible collapse this year. Nisky toward end of career is fine on roster yes. But not on top line role. Per usual slotted wrong. Actually played for most of the year above his ability. Great. The playoff collapse was surely coming. He would’ve made little difference on this years team. And at end of the day this would’ve been his last year and we’d still be in same boat |

Context? No, its fact. Spin however you want. What I say is 100% fact. Indisputable. We were 1 game away from the conference final.
By all means stay dizzy.

While factually true, saying one game from... is trying to spin the narrative. As January was this season, the series against Montreal was misleading.
I do not hear anyone (well, not many) saying that the 2010 team was a shootout loss away from missing the playoffs. That is factually true, but it does not tell the story that people want it to. |

Are you saying your proud of what the corpse in chief has done so far. Please if you knew how to think for yourself I really doubt you would post something so defensive.
Governance isn’t sports it’s not about rooting for one side over the other Yankees vs Red Sox.

Wasn't defensive bruh.
But since you asked. HE is ending the Afghan War, unlike the other guy. You know.
Anyway, I am independent but find it disturbing and laughable that one is held in any higher regard than the other.

What is Bruh? Do you know how to speak?
Your are the farthest left independent I ever saw post non hockey related posts here.
Where did I mention any other former president?
Regarding the former president his administration set the wheels in motion for the USA to leave Afghanistan. That’s one of the few things Obama didn’t I mean the Biden administration didn’t rush to cancel.
Thanks your participating your dismissed. |
