Yea, I get it, however these are outliers… especially HOF/generational player outliers. This is not normally the case.

I wouldnt use tennis as a comparible to hockey.

Brady is an outlier. But even still, the guy barely ever gets touched.

Im not saying he cant/wont be good, just raises a little concern. I wouldnt hate it or be against it at all.

Im not arguing and i know you agree considering OReilly term- I was just using those guys because it was the first names that came to my mind . There are so many examples

Id still get rid of Strome and get a 3C like Jenner or Dvorak.

If reports are true and Columbus is going for a rebuild now, Jenner could be had for the right place I think. But would JD do business with us?

126- 32- 76- 108- 27
126- 35- 34- 67- (5)
111- 19- 22- 41 (23)

These are the stats for

Strome
dvorak
Jenner

Last two years combined- games, goals, assts, points and +\- and yes the Parentheses means they are minus players

I will stick with Strome ALL DAY LONG

When you bring in O Reilly, Strome no longer plays with the top 2 lines. So now you have to consider what exactly makes up a solid 3rd line forward. Defense, faceoffs, chippiness/grind/physicality, moderate point production. Sure Strome has the points but hes got none of the rest of those.

You should have posted O'Reilly's stats:

127 36 79 115 +37
Selke, Conn Smythe, Lady Byng, Stanley Cup and instant Captain of this team.

this may be the first draft in years where no first round picks go immediately to the NHL

all these top guys are going to Michigan at least one more year

amazingly, 4 of the projected top 5 guys will be at Michigan this coming year

We can agree to disagree, as far as Im concerned the 3rd line is the most important in the playoffs, and I dont want Strome on it.

However on the flip side, Im not totally against keeping Strome in another use. Lets say we trade Buch, Im ok with playing Strome on the RW with Zib and Panarin/LAF. But still getting Jenner/Dvorak for 3C.

Without having to figure out who we have to give up for OReilly

A top 9 of

Zib- Laf- Buch
Strome- Bread- Kravtov
OReilly- Kreider- Kakko

Could be pretty sweet

Dont mind if I make lines with the potential losses.

LAF - Zib - Strome
Panarin - O’Reilly - Kravtsov
Kreider - Jenner/Dvorak - Kakko

ROR is 30 already, he probably only season or so to go, and I would prefer Chytil over Jenner... And Strome... seriously....

LAF - Zib - Buch
Bread - Fil - Kakko
Kreids - Dvorak - Krav
